I took my son to the game, so I don't know what was covered by TV - after the final whistle went, Toure ran over to Mignolet and picked him up off the ground in celebration - it was really good to see.

There's a real team ethic developing - Rodgers has to be central to that.

How good was Mignolet's first half save as well? It looked amazing from where I was sat, anyway.

I think Susan Black has to take most of the credit.

Don't ever forget the part her mum had, giving her the confidence to take on a job like that!

Few dodgy moments towards the end of that but very very happy with the way we played generally. A bit more luck and a lesser keeper than Begovic and we'd have been out of sight with plenty to spare.

now i've had a while to think, they really let us off the hook by hitting the bar with the mig nowhere in sight. we were very lucky.

do you think they intentionally done that?

Wonder if we hit the bar just to pay them back, nice to be nice, first game of the season and all that jollyness.

It was so good for us to see out a first half lead for the rest of the match.

I just can't get over that penalty save from Mignolet AND the follow-up.

It's happened all too often whereby we've had lots of chances i.e. today, but failed to take them. Throughout the game, our fans across the web had that same fear, that we may regret not capitalising. When Agger conceded the penalty, it was the same reaction '****, we've blown it'.

The crowd and the player's reaction to the save was amazing. The psychological impact that could give us, not only for Mignolet, but in terms of home games when the away side are looking to hit us on the counter cannot be underestimated. This was the first game of the season against a Stoke side who we've drawn against twice at home under Dalglish and Rodgers. The nerves and excitement over it being the opening day must be factored again.

Hopefully, we'll come up strong against Aston Villa next week. I'm delighted.

The movement of the whole team at times was unbelievable, almost programmed like a machine. Fantastic to watch.
