It was a fantastic result, fair play. One thing that has been slightly worrying is that we seem to lose a lot of composure when the opposition begins pressing and chasing a game. We made things a lot harder for ourselves yesterday because the ball just wasn't sticking with the likes of Aspas and Coutinho. Obviously retaining possession when a team like Utd are applying the pressure is very difficult, but the same thing happened against Stoke and Villa.

If we're going to take things to the next level, we need a few players to keep their cool to relieve the pressure (something someone like Mata would do extremely well, and Suarez will make a big difference too). We've all read about how frustrating it is to play against the Spain's and Italy's of this world - where you lose the ball, and don't see it again for a couple of minutes. That's what I'm hoping to see us develop. We've got the core of players to do it, they just need to believe in themselves a little more I think.

That's the best thing. Not only did they lose to us, but they had to wake up the next day with him as their manager And the next day, and the next.......

Kinda tickles me in some strange way.

The midfield is a concern for me, we can't seem to be able to control it and eventually we're going to be out gunned. Rodgers needs a rethink in this area - unfortunately it may be too late to get someone in.

I completely disagree about the midfield. I thought Gerrard and Lucas completely controlled things in the first half, and inevitably came under a bit of pressure as United pushed for an equaliser, but still held firm.

Think fans ( not aimed at you, in general) sometimes have a unrealistic expectation for us to have 100% possession and not let the opposition through even once.

Do you think Carrick or Cleverly played better than our 2?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

One thing we've certainly become is a really tough side to break down, the defence and midfield cover has been really good this season with there being very few actual clear cut chances conceded.

It's obvious that the reason Hernandez doesn't start games is he has next to no ability outside of the box. The days of the 'goal hanger' are well and truly over.

Slightly off topic but Why isn't Kagawa playing for them? Quality player.

I don't think Moyes knows where to play him. It's why I think even if they'd brought someone like Fabregas in I think they would have flopped.

He'll be more comfortable with Fellaini in truth, he knows how to play him. The problem for United is it'll inevitably mean they shift towards an Everton style of direct football, which they'll absolutely hate, and won't suit them at all.

i think the route one game would suit manure, actually.

they lack midfield creativity. they have a few strong but dirty players in the middle of the pitch, and a couple of fast players/goal hangers to get on the end of the hoof balls.

without the supply to rvp they will struggle, so the quick fix option is to by-pass the midfield.
