It will be difficult for him to make it now imoOriginally posted by RichC View Post
Whether he's going to be good enough is another matter.
Its a shame because I think if he had stayed he would have made it
Positionally I thought he did well and also I thought he read the game well and was comfortable on the ball
He might well struggle physically and he was clearly struggling for fitnessBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

From what remember he did well at Bordeaux. Forced his way to a starting place (not bad for a young loan player), then he got a bad injury (knee?). Towards the end of the season he was starting some games again.Originally posted by Chazza View PostThere must be reasons he only played 9 games for Granada, 12 for Bordeaux and didn't have a look in for Villa despite them looking a shambles at the back.
I have no clue that went on at Villa, but he wasn`t even on the bench so something went very wrong with that move.Blank

It wasn't the second coming of Beckenbauer, but there was nothing to suggest he will be a disaster.
I guess we will bring in some real quality in this position either this month or in the summer. I'd imagine if Ilori plays and trains well he'd have a chance of being a squad member (like Kolo is now) who can play league and fight for first team if he is good enough.
I think it is difficult to read anything into Friday nights performance.
I'd been reading this thread wondering what I'd missed on FridayI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Stumbled across this post by accident in this thread.
Wonder if there was ever any truth to it.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostManchester United are still in with a chance of signing Germany international Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund - but the deal could now be scuppered by arch-rivals Liverpool according to the Daily Mirror. The paper reports that United and Dortmund are close to agreement on a £20 million switch - but only thanks to the Bundesliga side's entering talks with Liverpool over a replacement, namely young Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori. The German club see Ilori - who would join on loan - as a possible replacement for Hummels. The paper claims that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers would need to sanction such any such move.

Certainly seems to have the right attitude and is positive.
I hope he plays against Arsenal, will be a good game to gain some experience and I think he will kick on from there.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

spot on. from that group he was the stand out player in our back five.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHe had Bogdan behind him, Enrique next to him and a couple of kids at full back. not too shabby given his limited game time recently.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Thought he did well too, was just exhausted in the second half. The commentary seemed determined to ignore all the good he did and big up anything potentially bad because he "couldn't get in the Villa team". Danny Murphy is clueless, let's hope he's never, ever connected to the club in any sort of capacity again.

Murphy was awful. Imagine having not played a competitive game for six months after being loaned out and then being recalled to a new manager and play for him after two days of training, on that pitch with a collection of youngster who haven't trained together all season, I think we can't draw many conclusions from that game, and that's doesn't only apply to Illori.

I really like the look of Ilori. It could be said that he didnt have much to do last night. However, when he was called into action it was all done with an air of confidence
He reads the game well, he positions himself well, he intercepts and tackles well, he is good in the air, he is comfortable and assured on the ball and his distrubution is excellent
In the space of 2 weeks his fitness has really improved. He went from struggling after 45 mins with cramp etc....to comfortably being able to finish the game full of running
I believe he will progress very quickly now he is back at Melwood
