    Conclusion of the transfer window

How do the lot on here feel the window went? Are you overall satisfied with the incoming/outgoing transfers? Did we need more, or was it just perfect? Did we sell the right players?

Added a poll to see that as a result, but would be cool with some reasoning as well

Table shows all in/out of the club.

I'd give us a 7.5/10 this window. Maybe an 8 at a push. The squad is quite a lot better, but we didn't manage to sign any really outstanding players for the first team. Not for the want of trying admittedly. Sakho is close to that category though, and Mignolet looks like he could be too. Very happy overall.

We have done well, but with a bit of luck could have done better.

The most important thing was something we didn't do, selling Suarez.

I think the right players went, very happy to see the back of Carroll and Downing. The right players have got loan moves too.

The only minor complaint I have is I think we could've done with one more striker but I suppose with Suarez coming back, that's not as much of an issue.

I'm having the same feeling, think we did very well all things considered. We've defo come out with a stronger squad and more options, but we have somewhat failed to strengthen the starting 11 really. Except Sakho, that I expect to have an impact in the near future, and to push Toure on the Bench a lot.

Happy that we got competition for Enrique, although he got injured unfortunatly, and that Johnson don't have to cover that - much better on the right after all.

Mignolet looks like a really good purchase, and the rest is a question mark for me still, but have hopes for them all.

Not sure I understand the loan of Moses just to ship out Borini for the same. Perhaps Borini is not as adept playing on the wings/IF role, but still would rather see him getting game time here.

Id almost forgotten Downing ever played for us! Almost. I'm shifting it up to an 8/10 now

And add a Shelvey that I doubt is going to become good enough, Spearing that was Surplus and Assaidi that was never going to get a game and it looks reasonable.

I'll give us 8 easily, we improved our defence and goalkeeping markedly plus added some strength and depth to our attack. Very happy, would have like to sign a left attacker permanently but you never get everything you want.

The best signings for me, Mignolet, Kolo and Sakho, they will prove to important for us. The best teams always have a good keeper and at least one outstanding defender, in the Vidic, Toure, Ferdinand, Terry, Hyypia mould, hopefully Sakho will fullfill his potential.

And yes the right players went, can understand Borini wanting to play games for the World Cup and it will be good for us too, he's young and needs games, will hopefully come back better and more experienced. Suarez staying is great and the right players are on loan as well, I hope we'll see Suso back and Robinson is playing a lot in a competitive league, happy times.

                    7/10

Willian, Costa or Mickey would have pushed that up to a 9/10.

This thread is ripe for a PeeTeePee squad assessment ...

We've got a first team squad of 24, the joint lowest in the Premiership which can be balanced out by our lack of European football. That squad has the second youngest average age in the Premiership at 25.2 (Aston Villa's is 24.5). When you look at the squad - or more importantly, the starting eleven - it's a Rodgers' team; the squad is starting to take shape and we're building for the future and for a sustained challenge at the top. Another couple of transfer windows and a season of battling with the big-guns, together with the experience, will put us in good stead.

I voted 'happy', because I believe we've done well, I would have just liked two more additions (a central midfielder and a striker - a Sturridge injury combined with a Suarez suspension leaves us a little light). However, I certainly can't grumble.

I was a great tranny window for us. We shipped out all of underperforming highly paid players. We have bought is some fantastic talent on lesser wages.

We retained one of the very best players in the world. This in itself was an excellent result

This window has been both fantastic for the squad and for the financial side of things

Touré can play a holding midfielder if there was an injury to Lucas as can Allen who I thought was excellent in the early part of the season.

For me the real ****ing pisser was missing out on Willian. Just like Rodgers said he would have been perfect. Can create chances, move the ball upfield at pace with the ball under control and create that bit of magic against teams that park the bus. You also have the bonus of moving Coutinho inside.
Missed out on a major talent because we didn't want to pay a huge agent fee.

                              I'm buzzing!

We kept a 30 goal striker, signed someone that can make brilliant saves and keep their concentration, have a full compliment of international class hard *******s in defence, bought new upcoming players that understand our system and sent a message to everyone that we come not to be ****ed about in the transfer market.
