Read somewhere that we got around the same loan free for Borini as we paid for Moses so ~1.5m.

I'm certain we got a fair bit for Reina as well.

      ---------------------Mignolet------------------

      johnson----------sakho------agger----------enrique

      ------------------lucas-------gerrard-----------
      ----------------------henderson-------------------

      coutinho /---------------sturridge-------------suarez
      moses
thats how i see the team setting up and as soon as cissoko shows any form then enrique will be a sub.

Happy with the work we have done on the squad. Every transfer makes sense to me, the players who have come in offer something more than those who have left in the same position. People criticised our defence last year at times and that is something we have definitely looked to address in personnel terms. That one last major attacking player would have made this into an excellent summer, but we certainly go into this season stronger than we did last so I'm happy.

Very happy with how we have done from a financial perspective. I honestly think the club is being run really really well right now and it sort of frustrates me (though I understand why it happens) that more of our fans don't seem to think the same. In terms of spending, once again our net spend in a window has been around £20m. Its not huge but it is consistent and it adds up. Rodgers has now had a net of about £65m in 3 windows, that's better than most.

Considering we now have some value in the squad we can realise when we sell players which is also being reinvested - almost £30m this summer from players adding very little to the squad in Spearing, Shelvey, Carroll and Downing - and being done while the wage bill is being managed properly, I think things look good for us going forward. We have more value to be realised in surplus like Borini, Reina, Skrtel, Coates etc, which added to FSG's continued steady budget could easily see those one or two extra top quality improvements people think we still need coming in over the next year or so.

Very happy we have kept Suarez. We did a fantastic job there. Ian Ayre, Werner & Henry, Rodgers and of course Susan Black deserve a huge amount of kudos for the way that has been handled. Even if we do end up selling him in the next couple of windows it will be on our terms and we've given the manager, players and fans more time to enjoy having one of the best players in the world in our shirt.

Overall, 8/10 and a fair shot of a proper challenge for 4th. Progress.

Good to see credit being given where it's due.

                  rodgers summer tansfer report 2013.

players in; not a bad effort but look forward to more improvement.
players out; very good effort. glad to see that you have progressed your project.
other comments; so long as you can make sure the naughty boys dont have an adverse effect on the group the overall performance will improve.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                    * I understand your point, but any excuse to post the current table.

Over all I'd say its a 7.5/8 out of 10. The squad is building nicely, and while one or two "marquee" signings would have been nice I think overall everybody can see what is building and the progress we are making.

We did the best we could do I feel given the fact the lack of players/positions we required reinforcement. My only disappointment is the Skrtel situation - I'm a huge fan of his and the signing of 2 defenders will not help his case

If the players coming are better in it has to be a good thing? At his best he's a beast, but he's just to inconsistent. He'll get his chances in the start of the season, but if he isn't at the top of his game when gets them he'll be of in january.

january's not far away and skrtel will probably be gone then. we should still be looking for one more attacking player to sign too.

Realistically we need a couple in the wide areas. I also think Brendan was spot on when he said he wanted to sign a midfielder who gets goals. It would be nice if Coutinho can start banging in a few goals - I certainly feel he has the capability. I hope they spend a whole season trying to find the perfect players to sign rather just jumping and signing players for the sake of signing. Also come the end of the seaon, Ibe and Sterling will hopefully develop further (although I have massive doubts over Sterling)
