yeah any title hopes, even though most of us just had them as little outside 'dreams' of happening aren't going to happen.
both chelsea and city are far too strong.
i am now very concerned about top 4.
I've always maintained that if we keep our key players fit, then we will be ok....but we just don't seem to be able to do so.....
considering we have such a small first team squad - from what i can tell/remember we only have Henderson, Mignolet Sterling and possibly Aspas/Moses/Alberto(though not sure about those three) who have been fit/available all season (bearing in mind Suarez had the 6 game ban at the start)
I am right in saying this arent' I? i am pretty sure the following have all missed games through injury
Johnson
Kelly
Toure
Agger
sakho
Skrtel ??
enrique
cissokho
gerrard ??
allen
lucas
coutinho
sturridge
+ suarez (6 game ban)
it's unbelievable....
so with lucas now out, our thin squad does look weak, and 4th is going to be a real battle.
if....we manage to sign a top centre mid and a decent full back this window, and we can keep the starting XI fit/playing regulalry between now and the end of the season i do still think we will be in the top 4.
but if we continue to keep chopping and changing each week and don't strengthen this window then we will struggleLast edited by PTP; 20-01-14, 01:00 PM.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

That will not be enough to qualify for CL next year.Originally posted by Trippendicular View PostI just went over the corresponding fixtures from last season, and if we match our results from last season we'll end up with 70 points. And that's with only picking up 1 point in the next 4 games.
We are currently averaging 1.95 points per game which projects 74 points by the end of the season.
Based on number of points collected by 4th placed team over last 5 seasons that should be enough but personally I think we'll need 76 at least to lock in CL spot.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

That was our goal at best at the beginning of the season and nothing really changed.
City, Chelsea and Arsenal will decide who will win this season and us, Spurs, Bitters and Mancs will fight for the last CL spot.

I reckon 8 points which is (for those that struggle with maths) bang on 2 points a game.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post3 of our next 4 games in the league are at home, although 2 of those are v Everton and Arsenal.
Villa (h) - 2-2
Everton (h) - 4-0
West Brom (a) - WIN
Arsenal (h) - DRAW
I do think we are capable of beating Arsenal but it depends on tactics and injuries.
10 points would be brilliant of course!Was muß, das muß.

Looking at the upcoming games for others we could still be in contention for automatic CL qualification -
* West Brom v Liverpool - LIVERPOOL WIN
* Arsenal v Crystal Palace - ARSENAL WIN
* Man City v Chelsea - DRAW
No code has to be inserted here.Then we play Arsenal...
* Liverpool v Arsenal - DRAW
* Chelsea v Newcastle - DRAW
* Norwich v Man City - CITY WIN
No code has to be inserted here.Arsenal play Man Utd. I think any result here strengthens our position.
* West Brom v Chelsea - CHELSEA WIN
* Man City v Sunderland - CITY WIN
* Arsenal v Man Utd - DRAW
* Fulham v Liverpool - LIVERPOOL WIN
No code has to be inserted here.Now it gets interesting as we could potentially go 3rd on goal difference.
* Chelsea v Everton - DRAW
* Arsenal v Sunderland - ARSENAL WIN
* Man City v Stoke - CITY WIN
* Liverpool v Swansea - LIVERPOOL WIN
No code has to be inserted here.* Fulham v Chelsea - CHELSEA WIN
* Stoke v Arsenal - DRAW
* Southampton v Liverpool - LIVERPOOL WIN
* No City game?

I personally think arsenal will blow up. If we can beat them at anfield, then our momentum will grow. I can see home advantage being huge and the players wanting to make amends for that ****e display in the emirates.....
When arsenal play a run of games that includes City at home, spurs chelsea and everton away from home at the end of march - then i can see Arsenal sliding down the table.
If we can keep everyone fit and in form, then i think we can get 3rd - or maybe even 2nd....

I think that City will beat Chelsea comfortably at the Etihad, I think that Arsenal will beat United, Chelsea will beat Everton, Arsenal will beat Stoke and we will draw with Southampton. I still believe that fourth is the realistic target, and anything more would be a real bonus.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostLooking at the upcoming games for others we could still be in contention for automatic CL qualification -
