I was almost glad to be knocked out by Chelsea in the CC too, just need fewer games. I'd be happy if we sent out a **** team on Weds, maybe the one Shaggy's just picked in the match thread, and get knocked out of this cup as well.

League and Europa, that should be all we're interested in.

Looking at those of us in contention for fourth:

So we're 4 points behind and still have all three of them to play, with two of them at home. We just need to keep playing well and winning and the others will drop points along the way. We've put ourselves in a situation where we can't afford to lose those big games against our rivals though.

(I'm ignoring Southampton as they're surely this year's Everton aren't they? Done well to be up there for so long but will gradually fade away...)

Don't underestimate Southampton, they are really good team and after we funded them last summer they went up a level by buying good players.

~February will really set the tone for this season in terms of succes or not. Two remaining cup tournaments will be played out and we could be well in/out of the race for fourth meeting our local rivals and two of the contenders. We really need some big results.

I hope we put in a fairly strong team against Bolton as the FA cup is fairly weak from the point on (Arsenal/Spurs through only) and instead rest a few for the Besiktas game. I know a CL spot is up for graps in that tourney this year, but it's still a long run for the final and the chance of getting fourth is better right now and we need fresh legs for that.

Finishing 4th in the league or having a glory night in Europe by winning the Europa League...

Winning the Europa league after the season we have had so far would give us so much confidence going into next season...finishing 4th is a priority but Europa League should be given just as much attention as our league run.

Rather we went for glory in the Europa League as them nights stay in the memory far longer than coming ****ing 4th!

Not many teams in that competition will fancy coming up against us!

Also we have the bonus of qualifying for CL if we win it too!

**** that. I want trophies. Its what all fans of any club should have at the forefront of following a team IMO. I let the board worry about the financial implications of getting 4th, to me its not anything to be proud of.
