Well that was ****e. Tell the Premier league to shove their Manager/player of the month awards,the curse is alive and well!

We weren't at the races at all today but we aren't being helped by injuries,we've only picked a settled back 4 in 2 league games this season.

We were second best all over the park and Gerrard's attitude in second half was poor,he's supposed to be leading by example but was strolling around like he didn't give a ****. We had **** all options on the bench capable of changing it either,squad is still very short on quality but we have a lot of injuries.

A big rethink of our midfield required. We need a stronger double pivot to obviate the need for Henderson as an extra pair of legs. Even with all three, Lucas, Gerrard and Henderson we can't control the pace of for nuts and defend even less so. We keep getting knifed in the middle.

Brendan ****ed up with his selection today, I'm not having a go because we will bounce back but starting the game without FB's was stupid.

Is the right conclusion. If a team press us high and are able in possession so not giving it us back every two minutes we struggle. If they press but are poor in possession they tire out last thirty minutes.

If you check out Soton or Swansea against other teams you will see that more often than not they dominate possession against sides. They lack a cutting edge in the final third but they will frustrate.

Today Soton never really looked like scoring accept when we gifted them chances through not being switched on.

I think some of the 1-0's have been a tad fortunate, we played half the games and relied on the defence.

For me two worries

1) the midfield of Lucas and Gerrard - it's not working and this may seem controversial but we need to start looking to replace both.

2) Theres no goals in the team - whats the average 1 goal a game? we don't really look like scoring many goals, we're not making many chances also. the lack of attacking signings is going to cost us.
