Finishing was poor, but we had plenty of chances to nick it.
It's not just this game though is it, it's been the same problem from game 1.
How many goals have actually scored?
    We come not to play.

We're out of a **** competition and I don't care one bit. Utd fans will take heart from a result which masks their problems. They were the home side and it didn't show. They are in for a long hard season and are a little bit less aware of it after tonight, which is nice.
          Agree with this

We should have gotten more out of this, and need to take our chances. But overall very encouraging game by us.

We were the better side and played some decent stuff. We should have won.
            Another MASSIVE game

United were average and didn't have to be any better than that to win. Strange sub to put Kelly on IMO. Our midfield has been atrocious this season, so disjointed and lazy. I was suggesting like a few on here to have Lucas/Hendo in the middle... after that performance by both players.... not a chance!

Sahko looked bit better in second half but he is pretty shocking technically.. makes Skrtel look like Beckenbaur. Suarez so rusty and sluggish.. Sturridge just had a shocker, tripping over the ball and nothing going right.

Which brings to me to Stevie G... what a shocker. Guy hasn't started this season. Each time he gets the ball he slows up play and allows opposition to retreat and setup, he literally didn't stretch out his legs the whole game.

To be honest i don't care if United didn't deserve to win... they did. Our injured players are massive loss. A draw and two lethargic losses on the bounce. Out of the cup already. Gutted it was United that did it too.

P.S. How ****ing bad are we at set pieces defending and especially attacking... infuriating.
I can only imagine your perception is way off if you thought that was lethargic.

We were the better side by a distance. I continue to be baffled by match threads on here.

A fair point, but in the first few games we were converting those chances and people were getting carried away (top of the league thread anyone? ).

Today we probably created more chances than in recent games but squandered them all.
                      Oh I don't know.

Played worse than that at home and won 1-0. Hate losing to them but there are loads of positives there. Always tge same culprits at set pieces though, no excuse for that.

Those cunts were there for the taking if we weren't so dozy in the final third. Moses looks like he's going to lose the ball every time he's got it, as does his replacement, not to mention Sturridge's lack of control, poor decision-making and total one-footedness.

Who was the 40 year old on the pitch, Giggs or Gerrard? The ****er was reffing the game all the way through and only Henderson had the balls to say something to him at the end. Nice skipper's performance ambling around the pitch.

We should have put them under way more pressure considering the team they had out.

Another couple of very good MIG saves too, the Rooney free kick in particular was a good stretch.

                              Mate, he was crap.
He scores his goals in bunches and when he's not scoring he doesn't provide much to the team, so many poor decisions.

No one in this team is bullet proof.

Certainly adds a bit more pressure on getting a win at Sunderland this weekend.
