Good solid performance. Limited SAFC to shots outside box & whilst we will obviously worry at 2-1, we never really looked like conceding.
Be interesting to see how we shape up against the top sides, but we have Palace (H), Newcastle (A) and then West Brom (H) to sort things out & by which time likes of GJ & Coutinho should be back.
Impressive display & good to see Skrtel take some responsibility & head of up field with the ball at times.
Obviously, midfield is still the worry with us & that will be an issue against the big boys, but against the lesser sides our solid back line & classy front two should see us through against most.Forwards.......

Very nice to see our breakaways functioning so well last night.
Gerrard's pass to Sturridge at Suarez fist goal was just magnificent and it caught the entire Sunderland defensive.
Mignolet made a really good quick throw to Suarez for his second again leaving most of Sunderlands players ahead of the ball.
Encouraging start to the season to say at least, and a lot to build upon

What makes that whole move is Daniel's first touch that gives him that extra yard to take the defender on one and one and there was only going to be one winner.Originally posted by Darkon View PostVery nice to see our breakaways functioning so well last night.

Anyone notice both pointing at the other where to go? I really liked how they did it. Sturridge pointed at Suarez to go far post and then Suarez points to Sturridge where he's going. Simple
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

Mig - Had a ropey game, but still showed us what he's good at. Stopped some decent efforts which could have turned the match
Toure - See Toure
Skrtel - Like a dog with a bone. No fkups from him, positionally or otherwise. This time last season he'd already cost us around 4-6 points
Sakho - Not bad for a 3rd/4th game, was under the kosh at times but performed
Enrique - Competition and criticism is actually making him worse. The opposite of Skrtel
Lucas - Lots of fouls, that's about all I remember
Gerrard - Better game, got forward a lot more. Better use of the ball too
Moses - Overawed at times, running down blind alleys, etc. But also some good sharp spins in the middle that turned defence into the SAS show and made Sunderland cack their pants. Did better than I first gave him credit
Henderson - Back to a Dalglish day performance, crossing wasn't great and at no time tried attacking the full back. Sunderland tried to get him on the ball as much as possible
SAS - No comments needed
Rodgers - not letting pride get in the way of a correct formation. Made up for the Southampton debacle in no time. One tit for another.

Do you mean versatility or staying upright, or heading upright?Originally posted by McDermotX View PostWell.....the jury is still out on Cissokho, but if he can retain verticality and put one front in front of the other, it could be an improvement at the moment.
Never heard of that word before.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.
