Anyone would have thought we'd never played together before.

I know I'm massively oversimplifying things but I'm sure we won't go to **** for the sake of a few players missing some days.

I think they say it takes one day pr hour you shift to get back to 100%, but I guess it doesn't matter if it's only a couple of hours. Lucas, on the other hand, has been in China. You're bound to feel that.

If Kelly is fit we can easily go with Henderson and Gerrard in the middle but we really need someone else on the right because Johnson and Kelly can't stay fit, I wonder how close McLaughlin is?

Nice to have proper football back.

12:45 Saturday KO too. Good stuff.

Perfect time for us on the other side of the world too.

                      Couldn't give a ****.

Merely jesting, but well, if you support a team on the other side of the world...

I dislike NUFC with an intensity bordering on mackem levels. There is nothing more amusing than a Geordie disconsolate over his beloved Toon getting a good whupping. The 6-0 at St James's was a massive highlight for me last season, I ran round the living room after every goal, waving my t-shirt above my head and turning the air blue with my gleeful schadenfreude. Didn't even care that my wife's family were over for their tea.

I want 7-0 this time and Joe Kinnear to take over as manager.

3-5-2 against Palace (and Sterling on the right side) was absolutley the right formation at the time. But I'd rather prefer going back to orthodox in this game. Ben Arfa needs looking after properly so we need to be on our guard on the right side.

                          Mig
                          Toure Skrtel Sakho Enrique
                          Gerrard Lucas
                          Henderson Suarez Moses
                          Sturridge

Got a feeling Gerrard and Sturridge will be very jaded in this game. Might see Aspas and Allen come on early in the second half.

Why is everyone worried about Ben Arfa? He was crap against Hull and Everton and was subsequently dropped with Newcastle looking a much better team without him.

I think he's a very good player, but I'm not sure he'll even start against us.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

With Johnson and Lucas available again I'd go with this:

                              ................Mignolet...............
                              Johnson..Touré..Sakho..Enrique
                              ..................Lucas.................
                              .........Gerrard...Henderson.......
                              ..................Moses................
                              ...........Suarez...Sturridge.......

Feel bad about not playing Skrtel but I think this is the best formation for us. Very attacking, works best against weaker teams. Against top teams maybe switch to 3 at the back again. As soon as Coutinho's back it would work perfectly with him as the attacking mid.
Rafa on Everton - "When you play against the smaller teams at Anfield you know the game will be narrow"

I'm not going to think about the line-up until the head count later in the week. How many of our players are involved in "important" matches and how many are playing just to finish the qualification?
