2 points dropped, but we'll have worse results this season than a draw away to Newcastle.

Really missed Lucas and Enrique IMO. Obviously we missed Coutinho massively too, but he was never meant to start.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

End of last season. It'll come.

But I think we knew by now how much we missed Coutinho. Him, Danny and Luis together will be special. We'll score goals.

For me, I think Jordan was a bit poor today. I've supported him but today him and Stevie didn't click and I can see why Lucas is a shoe in for CM.
      Forwards.......

But seriously I'm happy we can whinge about dropping to 4th. Sure as hell beats talking about our inability to beat a team in the top 10.

I dont think there is anything wrong with 3 at the back. We were just sloppy today. Swap in Coutinho for Moses and it will work even better. Johnson and Aly as wing backs will be mint. Both coming back from an extended stint out. Us playing 4 at the back makes us look even more shaky

Is it too much to ask a defender to stay with his ****ing man on set pieces? Its not ****ing hard.

The two nearest defenders (Sakho and Cissokho ??) switched off because they thought someone else would clear it, leaving the guy with a simple chance, really poor defending.

Rodgers has got to accept a huge slice of the blame for this result; totally baffling that we didn't go immediately to 4 at the back when we went a man up - we shouldn't even be playing it against 11 men, never mind 10, and Cissokho hasn't got the attacking ability to be effective as a wing-back, only coming into it more in an attacking sense when we had the spaital advantage of playing against 10 men. Add on his part in their second goal and it didn't add up to a very good day.

Moses has made it his business to give Aspas a run for his money in the player-most-likely-to-****-the-move-up-and-generally-not-pass-it-to-team-mates-in-acres-of-space stakes. Infuriating.

Henderson is our only midfield player with an engine and should not be dropped. Lucas/Gerrard have been a wank unit all season.

I was never a fan of 3 at the back, but that isn't why we lost today. Coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez will be brilliant in this set up.

The problem with 3 at the back is that if your wingbacks don't play well and provide width and stretch teams you are just trying to play through the middle. Today that was what happened for me Cissokho and Johnson did alright early on but faded (probably due to having been out injured) but for a large part of the game we only really played through the middle and Newcastle being down to 10 men that suited them, as we never really stretched them.

I agree. We just need Agger to lead our backline. Sakho doesn't merit starts. I have no issue with the formation. The issue is Rodgers not changing it when we were a man up.

henderson has an engine, but no engine management system or steering wheel. norbs avatar says it all.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think you have the same problem with 4231, 4213, 433, which is why we struggled so much without Johnson and why Rodgers changed the system to try and get the best out of our CF's instead.

He's been our best midfielder this season besides Coutinho.
