    CL TV revenue is about 90m for English clubs 50% is based on how we do compared to the others, and the half is given on league position 1st 40%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%, 4th 10%. So we'd be around 8 m better off for finished 2nd than 4th, plus whatever Prem money is due

      I think this is right...

      Trying to figure this out and it is confusing to get my head around it but what I assume is that:

      50% of the UK revenue is split evenly as is 100% of the overseas revenue. Therefore we can be sure of;

      £22,535,000 and £31,986,500. Plus the moderate TV highlights fee £2,966,666

      That gives us a total of £57,488,666

      Teams are assured for payment for 10 live Premier League fixtures regardless of how many times they are show which is the £7,316,550.

      So that takes our total up to;

      £64,805,216

      I am thinking laterally that you therefore get £731,655 for each additional appearance over and above 10.

      Remaining money is based on positional money with £19,154,750 paid for fourth place and an extra £1,126,750 for every position above 4th

      So assuming we qualify for CL this season we will earn;

      £83,959,966 4th
      £85,086,716 3rd
      £86,213,466 2nd
      £87,340,216 1st

      + £731,655 for every live game above 10 shown on television

      Probably about an extra £500k from the FA Cup too

          It's funny that we (fans) are talking about 4th being the holy grail this season, when other fans & pundits are talking about us winnning it!!!

          Cautious lot aren't we

            This is a pivotal weekend in the title race. With Chavs, City and Arsenal all playing away, they could all drop points.

            We win at the toilet tomorrow and its then in OUR HANDS to go win it.

            Come on Hull and Villa, avoid defeat today.

              Maybe I'm alone in this but I never saw fourth place as the holy grail. If you can get fourth you can get first.

              I'll think that fourth place will now be an anti-climax if that's all we get. Looking at the underwhelming form of the other three teams in he top four positions there's absolutely no reason why we can't win it. We're playing better football than them and banging in goals

                  I'm with Redspin. Anything other than a title win would be a disappointment at this stage. But obviously, if we don't win it and come close to winning it, the sweetener would be that we're in the CL.
                  Are we winning?

                    A disappointment? We're arguably 3rd favourites for the league. I think you're buying into the hype. I'd be disappointed if we don't challenge but not if we don't win.

                      What hype? We're second in the table and possibly 4 points behind Chelsea and them still to come to Anfield. That's no hype to me but the reality.

                          A top 3 finish would be amazing given where we've been in recent seasons. I'd be very happy with 2nd or 3rd place. I don't think we'll win the league, but this weekend's results could change my expectations.

                            A win against Utd will be massive and could define their summer purchasing and next season's outlook.

                              in the last few years our final position has been poor but the worst thing has been the points gap between us and the top. this has shown just how far behind we were from being true contenders.
                              even if we dont win it we will surely be fairly close to the winners and we will have significantly closed the points gap. the next step wont be a massive jump. we are in the best position we have been in for years.
                              the progress we have made is magnificent. the run in is becoming so exciting. just a few more tweaks and we are there.
                              removing all the weak links makes us stronger

                              too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                                If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
