Proof that Liverpool title success is written in the stars?



Usually it is Man City supporters who sing of a blue moon rising, but it seems as though there was a celestial shift in the universe last night, with incredible images of a red moon rising over parts of the globe.

The incredibly rare sight, known as a 'blood moon', occurs when the Earth's shadow passes over the moon, creating a red glow. Could this be a sign that title success for Liverpool is written in the stars?

I hate looking ahead as such, but I guess the main issue lies around the timing of our game with Chelsea and City's with Everton.
They're about a week apart meaning that if we slip up against Chelsea and only pick up a point, City can do real damage to our title hopes by going all out against Everton the following week and getting the win they'd need.

This is assuming that all other games are won of course, but looking at the best case scenario, it'll be at Everton where City will drop points.............but I don't want to rely on that needing to happen which would be the case if we **** up the week before.

Good thing is I suppose, is that Chelsea can't really eek out a draw at Anfield which is just gravy for our approach, as it'll be no good to them. Factor in possible CL distraction and we should be confident of continuing our winning streak through that game.

My big worry is that I think we have to win every game to take the title

City and Chelsea are too close to us for us to afford slip ups

That coupled with the run we have been on (and you know its got to end sooner or later) makes me still concerned as to whether we will make it over the line

If we win 14 games on the bounce then we deserve the title

Not winning the title now would be a blow because I think this is going to be one of the best opportunities we have. I cant see Chelsea & City not strengthening again and equally United will improve (it might only be marginal if Moyes is there)

However no matter what the team and Brendan have done a great job and far exceeded my expectations

We win these next 2 and its over for me. City don't look like a team that will win its last 6 unless Aguero just explodes. We beat Chelsea and we end their chances. The Palace game turns into the game where we can actually WIN the league rather than lose the league.

i was thinking this the other day

but - we have to remember that both chelsea (4 games) and city (6 games) will feel they have to win ALL their games as well

looking at city - they have to win all their games! if they just draw one out of 6 and win the rest - which isn't unrealistic at all - it gives them 86 points

if we win three and draw against chelsea we'd have 87p


anyway hard not to think about it but we really need to somehow just focus on norwich...have to go there...go at them, get three points

The financial dopers can sign as many £30m players as they want, the winning points total next season and the one after will still as pretty much usual likely be between 82 and 90 points, we beat the **** teams and win our big home games then we'll continue to be up there regardless. We are not going to go away this time.

And besides, on paper both Chelsea and City are already stronger than us, but on paper means **** all.
We've beaten City, and were desperately unlucky not to beat both of them earlier in the season. We look far more impressive than either of them do, and that's without any new signings

Chelsea will be a really tough game to win. The odd shock result aside, they are just a hard side to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a draw in that game.

Yep. Anyone who thinks this is going to be a stroll in the park is kidding themselves. In all honesty I was more concerned about this match than the Man City game for the simple reason City can be got at due to the style of football they play. Chelsea however are different gravy. I said a few months ago on ST Mourinho had reverted back to type due to his team shipping in a lot of goals earlier in the season. They have got a good player in Matic who screens their back four very well. Clearly, they will play a conservative style of football, be very organised and look to hit us on the counter. It's a game I wish Henderson was playing in due to his engine but I'm sure Allen will do a fine job. I see this being a very tight game and I can't call it.

If we draw with Chelsea and Everton snatch a draw against City then all we be well. The worry I have is that if we draw with Chelsea then this will halt momentum and we'll start having doubts.
