Aye top 4 is hard enough, it's totally crazy, here i am feling like we've had a great start, and yet Spurs can leap frog us if they beat us next week.

I think we're in quite an enviable position.come January we'll have faced all of the big boys away from home and you can even add tricky aways at villa, everton,Newcastle,Swansea etc to that.our remaining away games are against mainly bottom half teams with the exception man United which could actually be a ****ing good laugh. We conversely then have home advantage, which surely counts for something, versus the likes Chelsea, spurs, arsenal, city etc.I know this sort of talk is dangerous and tempts fate but I can't help feeling more confident of a top four finish with each passing week.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Spurs have hectic fixture this month, they already played 3 matches Vs Untd, Fulham and Sunderland till yesterday and they play Europa this Thursday, LFC on Sunday, Cup game on Wednesday after that, Southampton following Sunday, WBA on boxing day and Stoke on 29th December. Total of 9 games and they will drop points.

probably not against us though as i think it will be the usual white hart lane ****e as well as having to put up with that ****ing "oh when the spurs" in slow mo mode
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

Spurs are guaranteed top of their Europa group I think, which will mean it will not really effect our game.

As for the next four games. A win at home to Cardiff is a must. Three draws against the other three would mean we'd be looking worse in the league, but once those games are out the window we have some fixtures in January where we are capable of a little winning run and putting the two points per game average back on track.

If we are focused on top 4, tbh beating Spurs and then losing to City & Chavs wouldn't be a disaster.
            Forwards.......

Yep, even if by the end of the year we are a few points outside top 4 it wont be a big deal given the fixtures we'd have had. On the flip side if we are still in there after City and Chelsea I dont see anyone removing us.

I think we'll see a relatively tight top 7 until the end of January and then a genuine race will be played out.

Gerrard out could be a defining moment in settling on a more controlling method of play and this could prove to be a decision that allows us to beat the top teams.

So who has better squads than us currently?

Arsenal, Chelsea, City obviously. I don't think anyone would argue with that. At the start of the season, Spurs and United also. But now? It doesn't look that way. So it could be argued that we have the fourth best squad. Or that we're punching above our weight. Or that others are punching below their weight.

                  Argue away...
                  Oh I don't know.

We're too hard on the team sometimes. We suffered a bad defeat at Hull but have bounced back well and it doesn't seem to bad now seeing Chelsea lose at Stoke of all places, Utd lost two home games in a row and city continue to struggle away from home. It's only a matter if time before arsenal get a couple of injuries and hit a bad patch.

All the big teams are struggling away from home this season so we're doing well. We just to get through the next month without sturridge and potentially Gerrard too so this will be our biggest test

10 points from our next 4 games would be unbelievable, and it would be game on for the top spot...

Why can't we dare to dream? Everyone is stuttering at the moment, apart from the gooners..hopefully their lull will be shortly.. with Suarez on the form of his life, there's no reason why we can turn the spuds over next week..

I'm going over to the Cardiff game, really looking forward to it now...

You can dream all you like. I prefer to be routed in reality. We have a really difficult few games coming up. Without Gerrard and without Sturridge. If we loose most of those, the "I told you so" brigade will be out in force. Do well and people will get more carried away.
                        Oh I don't know.

Right now, our aim should be to try and keep up with the top until January. The incoming fixtures look tough as **** and we have no idea how we'll look withought Gerrard, who's had quite a few assists again this season. It goes without saying that we'll miss Sturridge as well.

If we manage that and then bring in a player or two in January, then I'll believe we have a chance at a title battle.

So, let me get this right. The more we win, the more fans will get excited (carried away) and this is a bad thing?

If we win all of them (games over the next month) then we're contenders. If we lose all of them we're not. Anything in between then maybe.

That depends on whether you prefer to avoid the inevitable disappointment which will follow.

I'll get carried away when I'm actually celebrating winning the league. I'll be massively carried away at that point.
