For me, winning the league this year will be seen as a much bigger achievement than Istanbul and rightly so as it’s over 38 matches with few easy games. Despite this, and despite the fact I could be in Anfield when we finally lift the trophy, I just can’t see it feeling half as good as when I was sat in a bar on May 25th 2005.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It might be a disappointment from where we are currently but at the start of the season I'd have jumped at that.

**** it, I'm just saying that we've been outside looking in for a while and as teams have built up their money making sides, we've dawdled, splashed cash on ****, been owned by cunts, managed by the clueless and fallen by the wayside.

In all that time, United, Arsenal, Blackburn, Chelsea and City have won due to either more money or better management.

Rafa offered some hope but it all fell flat.

I'm quite sure that was has been lost can be found and that is our Holy Grail.

Obviously we haven't won the league, but bar United, have any of those sides won more trophies than us during our barren spell? (Genuine question, not being smart)

Obviously it’s the league we want, but I’d hardly say we are on the ‘outside looking in’.

Yup. Can I bow out now and put this down to being a brainwashed member of BSkyB and a little drunk?

the interesting thing about our outside chance at the title is that if we do go on to win it it'll be because we are able to beat the best of the other teams. we have chucked points away against lower teams, so we have to do it the hard way.
getting a win against city, arse or the chavs will obviously make it the fabled six pointer, so there is so much to play for. if we show some consistency and cut out the flapping in defence then... i just cant say it...
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We're in with a shout of the title certainly but realistically, and without being negative it's not going to happen. Although we're improving we seem to have this habit of folding under pressure and lose key games and I cannot see that changing for the remainder of this season.

We'll beat Swansea and Spurs at home, think we'll lose at United, beat Chelsea at home and lose to City - that's how I see it panning out in the remaining 'big' games so to speak. I also believe we will lose more on the road than win.

I am however confident of getting into the top 4 though.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I was born in 1978, does that mean that the titles we won before that aren't relevant? Of course not.

Sky have made a concerted effort to give the impression the top division in football has only existed since they took it over and it was renamed the Premier League rather than the first division.

Football has been around long before Sky and will be around if Sky ever cease to exist as well.
Football will become irrelevant when Robo hockey hits in 2050.

You make some good points there but the flip side to your post and why we should have some optimism is that our remaining of games is arguably easier than our competitors, we still have Agger, Sakho, Lucas, Enrique and Johnson to return and we also won't have the distraction of Europe unlike our rivals.

Ultimately I think it's probably too much of an ask to go from a 7th place finish to 1st and with a squad that is seriously lacking in some areas but the fact that we're seriously discussing winning the title after almost 5 years in the wilderness is an achievement in itself.

And even that will become irrelevant when it's rebranded as Cyberhock by BSkyB.

Dont think thats fair at all, we didnt fold at Stoke when every other team just below or above us had won earlier that weekend, Fulham, Arsenal, Everton etc. We've had our **** ups but dont think it's anything to do with folding under pressure, it's just a tough league. We've not even lost yet this year so a bit harsh to say we lose key games and fold under the pressure.
