A Lot of goings on in this forum.
But who here would take 4th if offered it right now? At the start of the season I would have. All of us would have. But now? Personally, I'd say we're all aiming higher right now. We can be negative about it if we like, but we all know there's a chance we could finish higher, maybe even as champions.Forwards.......

A win on Sunday will stitch up 4th and cement our place well and truly in the title race. Any less and we'd need Chavs to start dropping points regularly to get back into the title race.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostA Lot of goings on in this forum.

What a game this will be! We're in the last 10 games of the season!Originally posted by banditos View PostA win on Sunday will stitch up 4th and cement our place well and truly in the title race. Any less and we'd need Chavs to start dropping points regularly to get back into the title race.
And to answer the previous poster, yes I'd have absolutely taken 4th at the beginning of the season and I'd probably take it now.
But of course we should be aiming higher because that's the mentality of the team now.
We're back.Was muß, das muß.

At the start of the season I'd have been happy with 4th regardless of how close it was and how far away from the top we were. But given where we are at the moment we have to aim higher, third is certainly achievable as is a title challenge. So I think I have reached a position were if we were just to finish 4th I'd be a little disappointed.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostA Lot of goings on in this forum.

I wouldn't have just taken 4th, I'd have snatched your hand of in an instant.
However we're far better than that now.
What a ****ing season

horrible question
yes i'd prob take 4th now and end the season.
personally i do think we could push and finish higher but this season top 4 is a must so if it was offered up now and we could take it and just finish today yeah i probably would. especially if the other 3 where Arse/Chels/City - finish above spurs/utd/everton all of them outside the champions league places....good seasoni own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Can you see us finishing worse than 4th though? Honesty I just can't. I think we're nailed on. For that reason alone I'd gamble. That said, I've mentioned before that I think 3rd is the best we'll finish (2nd at a push if City give up).Originally posted by PTP View Posthorrible question

3rd would be infinitely preferable to 4th though to avoid the nightmare of a tough qualifier.

i don't know mate
i'm still a bit nervy - i've been like this all season - it feels so close yet so far away
lose to united, spurs, city and chelsea - which isn't inconcievable and then it's **** yer pants time.
win all four though and I honestly think we will the league.
that said though - i remember going back around xmas time and saying i felt anything above 70 points would be a good season and would comfortably see us top 4.
10 games left, 5 wins would see us on 74 pts. That should easily be achievable and should see us top 4i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I thought better off you PTP. Ok, ok I didn't.
Just look at the stats and past history. We're statistically almost certainties to secure top 4. Most statistical predictions have us in 2nd or 3rd.
If you can't buy into the whole stats angle just check out our attack! Do you honestly see a team with Suarez and Sturridge in this kind of form dropping that many points? Absolutely no chance. So relax.

would be great if we could come out of the next four games with say 3 wins and draw minimum - 10 pts
and then with other results going for us, be in a position were 4th is guaranteed and we still have a shot at the title - that would be great - 4th sorted, pressure off on that side of things and 5/6 games to go all guns blazing for the title without any fear that a collapse would cost us 4th.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

i go through spells
one day i'm super confident - next day my mind wanders and i worry
i know we are playing well, i know suarez and sturridge are ****ing unreal, but i've also watched our midfield be non-existent and our defence play like amateurs at times as well
just at the moment for me, it still feels a bit on a knife edge. We could win the league, but we could still collapse and miss out on top 4. I certainly wouldn't risk my life on it at the moment.
As i've said, next four games over march are huge - come out of these with 8 points or better and i will start breathing a lot easieri own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

We'll need to keep Sakho out of the side then or we're f*cked.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostGod, not another leg wobbler

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Before the season began I would have bitten your arm off for 4th, but such is our position now failure to finish top 4 would almost be a sackable offence. And I'm a massive Rodgers fan. But if he ****s this up then serious questions would have to be asked.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostCan you see us finishing worse than 4th though? Honesty I just can't. So no, I wouldn't take 4th now because as far as I am concerned it is already in the bag and we should be aiming higher.
