If we balls this up now, it would be even worse than Spurs ****ting themselves (see what I did there ) and capitulating in 05/06.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

That would be aces. If we get 4th then that's the primary mission of the season completed. Everything else would be a bonus so Rodgers can experiment with a few things and go for a 4-0 win over City (like we did Real Madrid)!

Has anyone worked out who we might meet in the CL qualifiers based on current european league standings and coefficient?

No cos we'll be in the group stage as Champions of England.

I think we will finish 2nd or 3rd, so hopefully we won't have to worry about that.

Early games would be a nightmare with the world cup this summer.

I don't even think anyone is even aiming for 4th now. I think Spurs, Everton and United have all but given up on the idea of it.

The only ones that doubt us are our own leg wobbler fans

don't think spurs or united have - everton probably, just saw a couple of snippets about Martinez saying he hopes they can make the europa league next season cause it will help move the club forward and he doesn't see that competition as a hinderance....

                this weekend is key tho...

if us and arse both win then it effectively will kill off spurs and united.....heads will drop, the point difference will increase and that'll be it i reckon - either of or both win - and they'll be buzzing and think they have something to fight for.

                HUGE super sunday....AND IT'S LIVE

the lads i know who support those teams have had us nailed on for a couple of months now. Question marks over all those teams for a variety of reasons and as you said the only reasoning behind us not getting top 4 or a title push is our own fans lack of belief......but then this has been twenty years in the making

The tension will be unbearable on Sunday. I hate those games FFS.
                    Are we winning?

wouldn't say it's lack of belief - certainly not on my part - for me it's nerves just getting the better of me

funny though - cause the mates i know for those three other teams are still convinced they are in it and are expecting us to blow up soon.

i think that's possibly what leads to my nervousness though cause i'm too far engaged in arguments with so many rival fans/mates

Just for a bit of interest.....

if we win sunday - we'd be 14 pts ahead of United, with 9 games remaining....

if united somehow won 9 games on the trot....that would give them 75 points.

which would mean we would only need to win 4 for more games and a draw to guarantee finishing above them

And i can't see anyway that United would win 9 on the trot!

If spurs lose on sunday and lost to us - they would have to win their other 7 games to get to 74 points.

Again couldn't see them doing that and four wins for us would guarentee 4th regardless.

So it does look very good for us....certainly the spurs and united games - two wins ends it. A couple results going our way and we could have 4th sealed by the end of the month

For me (a leg wobbler) the crunch is this Sunday, a win and even Utd will understand they wont be in the CL next year, a draw or loss for us will only inspire them and maybe dampen our spirits.

No chicken counting yet for me until the sun is over the yardarm and the sheep are in the pen before you count them.

How on earth would a draw at home inspire them into thinking they could overtake us? It'd be another round of fixtures where they failed to close the gap. The games would really be running out for them. They need to win. You're not thinking straight on this at all.

i'd even allow my wobbling legs to say that i'd take a draw now. A boring 0-0 draw with no major incidents or injuries to our players and move on

Even a loss tomorrow isn't going to affect our CL chances. United fell out of that race a long time ago. Martinez has more or less said he thinks Everton are out of the race and that just leaves Spurs who are TERRIBLE and have possibly the worst manager in the division.
