Shankly's famous quip was wrong, football is not more important than life and death. Take some time to reflect and see it's just a tiny part of your life. It's not healthy to obsess to this extent.

After the final whistle the other day I felt horrendous. I wandered out into the garden where my little two year old daughter was happily playing. With the sun on my face I watched her play and the angst just drifted away. As much as we love it, as much as it's a part of our lives, it's only football.

It's not over yet, but should we fail to win the league this season and I'll be doing my damnedest to keep the disappointment to a minimum. We have so much to be proud of
Yes we were in a very good place but these things happen. Everything I wished for,and more, has happened his season. News today,if true,of Lallana's interest in US not the other way round is an indication of where Rodgers is taking us. We wouldn't have had a sniff of him a year or two ago. I've completely calmed down now and I'm now looking forward to Everton v City on Saturday. The pressure is now on them so let's see how it goes. You never know
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

IMO, at some point in these next 3 games, Man City are going to fall behind. Soon as that happens, the pressure will ramp up in intensity. If they think it'll just 'happen' like it did in 2012 then they may well struggle.

Im concerned that some on here and some fans I know are in denial

I cannot for the life of me see City dropping any points. Dont start at Everton because they just wont. That club is a different breed. The odds of it happening are very very small.

Best to accept it wont happen and be pleasantly surprised if it does

If the blue****e beat City then am I right in thinking we only need a draw at palace and it will still be in our hands?

We should be looking at winning at Palace.

I have a grip mate. I know the Bitters. Their players are constantly sniping at us on twitter. I would be shocked if they did anything on Saturday

As long as they still stand a chance of CL they will fight for it. Arsenal is playing the day after, so they want to put pressure on them the very least. It's what the players and manager lives for, and while some supporters may be willing to throw it I can't for a second believe that pro's and ambitios players are willing to. It is defining for them and Martinez as to wether this is a fantastic season or another just behind the best and potentially dropping down to 6th or 7th place.

I personally doubt they will be able to take points of City, but that is rather down to the later playing well at the moment.

Do you start off with expecting Liverpool to clock up 38 league defeats and work backwards? Its a lot less stressful being utterly shocked at something turning out positively!

Martinez 'optimistic' that Jagielka and Baines will be back for City.

Nah I didnt expect Top 4.

I dont expect us to lose games. Im genuinely nervous pre games but I do expect us to win certain ones. I expected us to get something from Chelsea, even if I didnt say so on here

But Its not in our hands now. And Ill be dammed if ill pin any hopes on Everton. I really hope Im wrong because I desperately want us to win the title

I fear Sunday may have taken something out of the players too
