Don't need someone else to convince me to be rational and I wasn't saying that he had. I'm merely reflecting that yes, indeed, I've been taking this pretty hard and I suppose my life would be easier if I was a bit more rational about it. But I'm not.

Perhaps it was passive aggressive of me to bring up your comment in another post but I thought it was flippant of you and didn't appreciate it.

He's done so much to get us where we are this season, lad must be heartbroken at the moment. Not that he needs to feel that way.

Bet you thought that after the demise of the team in 09/10 too......

I thought 08/09 was his one and only shot. But I've been proven wrong. Every year the press and others report how every team is going to get stronger - but they never do. Some will & some won't. If one of the ones that do get stronger, he WILL get another shot. Our team is young enough, we just have to manage players like Agger, Johnson & Lucas very well. Potentially all three could leave. The challenge is to bring in three that are at least as good as them, and bring in others to improve the squad also. Not easy.

Oh, and we really must beat Palace and then thrash Newcastle.

City nearly blew the title against a ten man QPR side when they won it. That was because United put them under pressure. Let's at least make them earn it. Beat Palace any way we can, then get early goals against Newcastle to put them under pressure.

You never know, Carroll may get a goal early doors from a set piece. That coupled with early goals for us will make them **** themselves. West Ham on their day are a handful. Downing & Carroll & Nolan will be bang up for it. Nolan for one would love to say he handed LFC the league title.

That's not to mention Everton where City have a dreadful record. But by Palace we'll know the result so I won't dwell on that one.

After we play Palace they have Villa at home. They may still need a point. They may be relaxed and up for it. They are a strange old team. They've taken points of LFC & Chelsea. They are lethal on the counter attack. Solid at the back if they get their noses in front. Villa first goal and it's on. They beat Chelsea 1-0 and we only escaped with a draw because Agbonlahor got injured. I think they brought on the lumbering Grant Holt and their threat went. They are a team like SAFC who can mix it with the big boys.

                It's still on.

Close title race means preparations are being made for trophy presentations at three matches

The race for the Barclays Premier League title this season is arguably the most exciting in the history of the competition with three teams in contention to be crowned champions with only two matchweeks remaining.
Only Chelsea can be eliminated from the title race at the weekend should they lose at home to Norwich City and Liverpool beat Crystal Palace on Monday night. Three points from Manchester City's trip to Everton on Saturday and their home match against Aston Villa on Wednesday would guarantee they will have a chance on 11 May.
For the Premier League, the unprecedented scenario of having three clubs able to be crowned champions on the final matchweek also presents challenges. The Premier League is having to prepare three presentation ceremonies on 11 May for the Barclays Premier League trophy and winners medals at three different stadiums: Anfield, where Liverpool face Newcastle United; Manchester City's Etihad Stadium, where West Ham United are the visitors; and Cardiff City Stadium, where Chelsea will face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
For this reason, three trophies, three sets of winners' medals, three presentation sets (the podium, photo sets, etc) and three presentation parties from the Premier League and its title sponsor, Barclays, will have to be readied for each venue.
The Barclays Premier League trophy that was lifted by Manchester United last season will head towards the match in which the club leading the table will play. A second trophy that is owned by the Premier League will go to the match involving the club in second place. A third replica of the trophy will be in place at the stadium where the club who are third going into the 11 May fixture will be in action.
The last time the Barclays Premier League trophy was up for grabs on the final day was in the 2011/12 season, when a stoppage-time goal by Sergio Aguero claimed the title for Manchester City and ended plans for a trophy presentation to Manchester United at Sunderland's Stadium of Light.
Who would rule out a similarly dramatic denouement this season?

I know what you mean there Sarb.

What is ridiculous is I don't believe in destiny. But if you read enough bull**** I reckon you can read what you want into things. I seriously was starting to con myself into believing.

But get this, past few games prior to Chelsea I made sure I was off work the following day. I wanted a good drink and as I have enough days spare, why not. I've got this Tuesday after Palace booked off, and I have the Monday after Newcastle off. I never even thought to book the Monday of after Chelsea and I didn't drink a drop of alcohol. Must have been something in the back of my mind telling me not to bother.

I can't see me needing Tuesday off if City beat Everton as it's kinda hard to get revved up knowing it's still in City's hands. So if anyone believes in destiny, or fate - well maybe I just know the outcome......

It wouldn't be crazy to suggest City drop points v Everton & Villa leaving only us & Chelsea in the race......

In fact, I reckon we could even end up needing only a draw against Palace & a win against Newcastle!!!!

No point bringing a third trophy to where Chelsea are playing that day.

Maybe if Mourinho had of showed more tactical genius, and less naivety in approaching certain teams played this season, then his team might have had a chance.
                              But those are the breaks.

The tactical genius, ahead of all his peers. Who's second in the league and out of the FA Cup. And didn't win the Cap One either.

                                But second to none...
