They'll be up for it. They like the big games down at Goodison. Martinez will want to win & his players will be motivated as such. Lukaku will wanna do it for the Chavs. Delofeu will want to impress people & cares nothing about a rivalry. Is an is a red, Barkley will have red mates pleading with him. They couldn't walk around the City if they threw it. The majority of fans want Everton to win their games and wouldn't be impressed.
      Forwards.......

They have to change their mindset eventually or they'll never be competing for trophies again. He's seems like the man to do it. I still can't believe they'll start this week though. However having looked at how perilous their situation is regarding Europe I'm starting to hope.

It could actually be pressure from United that forces Everton to go full tilt against City thus letting us back in the driving seat, epic

Whether they are good enough, or as massively driven without a CL carrot is one thing, but from a professional point of view, they won't be throwing anything IMO.
Will get a bollocking from the crowd at some point though.

Neither of those tweets mean anything. They were used as examples of how little effort Everton would put in a few days ago and they didn't mean anything then. Lukaku is a Chelsea player and Barkley was quite right. I don't know which of the three teams that City will face might cause an upset, but I think/hope that one of them can.

Lukaku was obviously supporting chelsea, and needs an everton win to continue that ...

Everton are not assured of a place in any European competition. Tottenham get past them and Hull win the FA Cup and its not even Europa.

Villa got one over on Chelsea and could be fighting for their lives. Only 3 points ahead of relegation zone so they will put in a shift.

West Ham are utter dross but the pont tail warrior with a last minute header/unpenalised punch in Hart's face.

Ideally we want Hull to take something from the game against Villa on Saturday.

This would leave Villa needing to get a result against Citeh or Spurs in order to guarantee their survival.

I think losing to Chelsea is a blessing in disguise (assuming things go our way!).

There is much less pressure on us as we cannot win by our own hand and the onus is now on Man City to get a maximum 9 points on the trot. It's achievable of course but they are in the driving seat and that comes with it's own pressures.

Everton won't roll over. Those players will know everyone in football will be watching and its a great opportunity to put yourself in the shop window.

Leon Osman promises Liverpool that Mersey rivals Everton will do all they can to beat Reds' title rivals Man City

Leon Osman has promised Liverpool that Everton will do all they can to beat Manchester City this weekend and tilt the Premier League title race back in favour of their Merseyside rivals.

Liverpool are relying on a favour from their neighbours after Sunday’s damaging defeat at home to Chelsea handed the advantage to City.

On paper, Saturday’s trip to Goodison Park is the toughest of City’s final three games and Osman has reassured Liverpool that Everton will be professional in going for victory as they try to snatch fourth place from Arsenal.

Roberto Martinez expects Everton defender Phil Jagielka to be fit for Manchester City clash after hamstring injury

‘Absolutely,’ said the Everton midfielder. ‘We’re professionals and it’s what we do. It’s a big game at Goodison and we want to enjoy it and win it.

‘City needed to rely on a slip-up by Liverpool to give them a chance so they’re probably favourites now and it’s up to us to stop them.

‘A lot of clubs will be watching this game very closely but we’ve got to put all that out of our minds and do what we always do and go into the game to win.

‘While it’s still mathematically possible we’ll be aiming to achieve it (a top-four finish). We can only do that if we win our last two games which is what we want.

‘With us playing first and being able to put the pressure back on Arsenal, it will be a good thing for us if we make sure we try and win that game.’
