Almost need a new thread - 2014/15 Title Race

OK, so we will probably end up 2nd this year. Still something for the club to be proud of.

I know this is a simplistic approach, but next year, all we need do is keep Suarez, keep the same way of playing, cut out the defensive mistakes that have cost us over the year.

    We're back baby..
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Going back to some earlier posts, I don't believe the goal difference swing is beyond the realms of possibility.

The pressure is off us and on Manchester City. Of all Rodgers' chat, he talks about being able to focus on the things that he has control over; our only chance of the title that we can alter is to score goals. And we can score goals.

We've put four, five and six goals past a fair few teams this season. If we were set up, motivated and raring to go for more, I reckon we could do it. It's the tail end of the season; players have booked summer holidays, teams that have nothing to fight for just check out.

Look at some of the freak results on historic final days, look how Manchester City struggled to beat QPR two years ago. Imagine we've put six past Palace and we've taken advantage of Newcastle giving us a five goal start (again). The pressure on Manchester City would be even greater.

We've got to control our own role in the title challenge and pile more pressure on Manchester City.

If we were to beat Palace, say 4-0 on Monday night then id ****in believe its on....

That's how I'd go about this if I were the manager. We can still control our destiny by thrashing Palace and putting more pressure on City. It's very unlikely but not beyond possibility. The thought that it is still in our hands can make a difference.
                Are we winning?

I can't see us beating palace even by one. I hate that ground. I've never forgiven palace for the semi final defeat with that cunt pardew involved. We would have won the final and fergie would of been sacked and the past 20 years could have been glorious. I'm relaxed about it all now.

A while ago, many were laughing about us even getting involved in the conversation and now we are probably the main topic.

So **** that lot. We're back...

I think if we can win by a few at Palace tomorrow, it will put pressure on City, if we win 1-0 or so at Palace they can be confident that wins against Villa and West Ham will be enough for them. But it we will by 4 or 5 (which is a big ask)it will put some doubt in their minds and they too might have to start thinking about goal difference and may increase the chances of they slipping up.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

What about this context. If we'd beaten Chelsea but still lost against Palace, we'd still be losing the league in that scenario?
                        Are we winning?

Just enjoy the last two games

Let the pessimists think its done. Let the optimists think its still on. Hopefully the players fall into the latter.

I certainly think this team is capable of dishing out a couple of hammerings if its carrying no baggage. We could have been 6 nil up against Arsenal and prob won that game 8-1

Had we started the 11 game winning streak in the lead we would almost certainly have had it sewn up by now.
Yeah 3 games, that's enough to wipe out the 8 points. And even then with winning another 8 on top we still didn't build a gap. Pain in the hole!

Aguero not injured unfortunately. He tweeted that he went off as a precaution.

Bloody hell that's another set of fans that would rather their team lose than help us to win the league
