I'm staying up to watch the match. If the improbable happens then I'm going to be so glad I was there to watch it.
If we do win but so do City then we're Premier League runners up. From 7th last season.
Ahead of team like Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea, all teams that people said would wipe the floor with us. How good is that! Was muß, das muß.

I guess everyone focuses on different elements of the season in terms of what could have been better.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI suppose if we don't win the league (i.e. City get beaten) then it would be nice if they only managed a draw and we finished on the same number of points. If we'd been a little better defensively this season we would be in pole position now.
For me, it wasn't the defence that was the problem so much. And it wasn't the throwing away of silly points against Palace or West Brom. Every team does that. For me, it was not getting enough points from our rivals.
We beat Arsenal at home, but lost away. Fair enough.
We beat City at home, but lost away. Fair enough too.
We lost both games against Chelsea. Had we gained three points from Chelsea we would be top of the league right now and I'd be on my way to Liverpool.
If you want to win the league, then you have to be better than your direct rivals in the games against them. With our record against them, second place is probably about right.Oh I don't know.

I agree with that, but would just point out that we're likely to finish above a team that beat us twice. An additional three points from any of the games that we lost would improve our position significantly. Obviously it would be unbelievable if we somehow won the league tomorrow. There are two things that I hope our position provides - more cash from the owners to invest in the team and better players looking at us thinking we'd be a great team to play for. If it comes down to goal difference then clearly we need to tighten up our defence, we were hardly goal-shy over the course of the season. And if it comes down to goal difference then top players will think that they can come here and be the difference next season.

I would say it is almost impossible for west ham to beat city tomorrow. Comparing players, managers, city at home, WH with nothing to play for, City with the title to play for... Impossible!
Anyway, it has been an unbelievable season. City have spent gazillions over the past few years, we almost went bankrupt with a squad full if dross not too long ago.
I'm actually delighted at how well we have done
we are going back to the top, maybe not this year, but we will soon.
And most of all lads, at the end of the day, it's only football, we are still alive, that's what's most important.
