Im still sickened & gutted that we didnt win it. After our final game against Newcastle i tried to convince myself that once the dust settles, the disappointment will go away and we will be able to reflect on an excellent season and 2nd place finish.
But to be honest it really hurts, and the feelings not going away. And i dont think it will go away until we finally lift the title. Throughout the day I just randomly find my mind wondering back onto the disappointment - even when im not thinking or talking about football.
I know my post may sound really soppy, but i cant hide how i feel.

I take my solace in that.

Apparently Stevie is considering packing it in re: England.
well of course he is, I'd expect nothing less. 34 and a world cup finals to play in, what more is there for him to do after this? play in 2 years of piss poor qualifying games against ****ing countries that didn't exist 10 years ago? He'll be 36, Rodgers has already made some comments about next season.

Exactly how I feel. I know the disappointment will stay with me until we finally win it, hopefully not too long away!

Not surprised - until this year I think he saw England as his one chance of winning something else - but after this year he can see a chance of winning the premiership with Liverpool, and having seen how the international breaks have extended other player domestic careers I hope he steps down after the WC.

I don't think it's so much winning things (England aren't going to win the World Cup) I think it's more about playing at the top level, with us having not been in the CL for a few years international football has given him the opportunity to play at the top level, against the best players outside the Premiership.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
jacking in with england after the world cup will help stevie play on for a bit longer. if it helps we need to store steven gerrard in a cryogenic chamber and defrost him when we eventually win the premiership.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
Chelsea and Man City should occupy two spots and Arsenal have some kind of hex on a 4th place finish. Ergo, if United were to take a place then, yes, it'd be us that was pushed out.
Not a word of that makes sense. If United were to take a top four place (not a chance of it happening, but let's suspend belief for a moment), there's no reason at all why Liverpool would suddenly deteriorate so much - or fail to improve as much as other teams - that they would limply drop from second to fifth, or lower, in one season.
Anyway, as Man U need to replace a good half dozen players with players of better quality to force their way past Spurs and Everton to be able to catch a glimpse of the top four, while not even playing in European football - seemingly a prerequisite for top signings - I think we can all sleep easy in our beds
