I think a team can look like a one man team when all the players are focussed on getting the ball to one of the best players in the world, it's going to happen.

As to how we'd do without Suarez, iirc we did ok when he was banned.

      it was a great game!
one thing that annoyed me was that in the 2nd half we had some very good chances wasted because of players going for glory instead of passing the ball to a better placed team mate. coutinhou, suarez, sterling all guilty of doing that. no matter if you're three nil up that's something that should be addressed.

well that's just what i needed

suarez is unbelievable - just top class - as good as anyone in the world.

typical liverpool - from complete dreadful to top class in 3 days

Mignolet 7/10 - we really need to work on his kicking

Flanagan 6.6/10 - solid performance - i'd wrote him off, and he still doesn't look like he'll ever be first choice either at rb or lb - but if's he prepared to work hard and play 10-15 games a season as cover 4th choice full back then great.

Agger/Skrtel 6/10 - did ok tho at times looked very shaky when dealing with crosses - defo time to get Sakho in there and stick with him

Johnson 7/10 - got his head out of his arse - played much better than previous games

Allen 7/10 - a few worringly poor misplaced passes that better opposition would have punished, that said, at home against a side like them, he's defo a better option than lucas, just seemed at bit more mobile and forward thinking

Gerrard 8/10 - again, against teams that aren't pressing/trying to over run the midfield, he looks top draw - controlled the play, unlucky not to score

Henderson 6/10 - worked hard but looked a little lost in his position in this set up - think he started as 'right winger' and just lacks a little bit of class/quality in the final third to play there.

Coutinho - 9/10 outstanding, ran the show, was every where - playing more centrally defo suited him

Sterling - 6.5/10 can't believe the amount of abuse people where giving him around the ground . No wonder he looks like a deer in the headlights and takes an extra touch when it's not needed just to make sure he keeps possession...Made up he scored.

        And thats it.

oh no it isn't.....Suarez......****ing outstanding. 10/10

don't think it was shown on match of the day

but we would have had a contender for goal of the decade if it went in

loose ball in the middle of the park, coutinho gets there first and stops, completley skinning their player, who comes back at him and coutinho running forward casually rolls the ball under his own foot and leaves the defender on the deck, chipped to suarez who chests it down to gerrard who drilled a half volley inches wide

Can't fault anything in that performance, everyone did well - but Suarez was just pure magic on the night.

Very good reaction to the defeat on the weekend, and it shows the team have a very good mentality. Come to think of it, we seem to react very well and determined after defeats this season - a strong team in the brewing.

Slightly disappointed we didn't manage the clean sheet, but it was a very good cross and header when we were lulled a bit to sleep. But **** that, it was still an overall great performance by the whole team.

                re their goal

that redmond who played left wing was their only player and you could tell they identified inswinging crosses from the left as their best way of creating problems.

How some people are still saying they'd play Agger is beyond me. Why? What has he done this season to justify starting over Sakho or Skrtel, even Toure? Absolutely nothing.

Time after time this season we concede goals due to him losing his man, but gets away with it because he is a ball-playing CB. He has been awful this season - there, i said it.

Skrtel has been fantastic and our best defender by a mile. He deserves to keep his place and at the minute our strongest defensive pairing definitely has him in it.

Personally I'd play Skrtel and Sakho against West Ham, like I wanted us to last night. Sakho has come in for some harsh criticism imo, and he will come good with games - lets not forget he is 23, in his first season here, and he hasn't exactly had a consistent run of games to build up some confidence. Skrtel and Sakho together will also combat the threat from set pieces on the weekend, which seems to be our main downfall defensively.

Need to start keeping clean sheets we really do. Chelsea, Spurs and City coming up. We might find it tough to score in those games so cannot afford to give silly goals away.

Was a lack of concentration again from Agger. It needs resolving because it will cost us points in the bigger games.

defense and midfield issues still need addressing

The lack of a clean sheet was the only negative from the match last night and something that needs resolving.

A player like M'Villa will do, if he's sorted out his issues.

In defence we need a left back, a right back and Sakho needs to play. Agree with the majority, that he should probably play with Skrtel.

Gerrard was lucky too last night when he lost his boot, could have been a nasty injury.

Might yet feel something in that ankle/heel.

Was at the game last night and watched him for the second half.... Seeing Aspas and Moses get warmed up, I was thinking "if BR tries to sub Luis he'll ****in refuse to go off"

I think Gerrard and Coutinho should have been subbed last night after the fourth goal..... Rest and recupe!!!

                                - against teams that press us high, push our midfield back and isolate suarez we're ****ed

but what is encouraging is how we bounce back after poor results with emphatic wins

and when you look at some of the results/performances already this season its good.

we still have issues, we are still way off being real contenders, but there is progress, we just need to get a few players in the right places, and keep people fit
