Got to say that I find it incredible to see people laying into Smith in the match thread. Yes, the substitute was an odd one, but that's hardly his fault.

I'm sure the very young lad making his debut in a tough away game that we were losing and chasing did his very best in very difficult circumstances.
    Really?

We were not great today but I'm really wound up having to watch the ref and Chelsea's antics

That was a very tough run of games. We took six points out of 12 so that's not a bad return and we played well against both city and Chelsea.

The injuries are mounting up though and our squad is looking thin.

Johnson seems to be going through his brainless phase at the wrong time and Lucas needs to come out the team.

This January window is very important.

****e refereeing in both games has cost us but Mignolet has picked a bad time to start having weak wrists!

Heavy price in injuries too. Hull is massive now, need to put a run together.

Showed some fight second half. Couple of Jan signings and then onwards and upwards. Webb is always a cunt.

What do we do at the back now? Johnson doesn't deserve a place, sakho is injured, Skrtel is not on form. We're a bit ****ed really.

Can't see us keeping up with the pack over the next couple of weeks.

Won't catch those top 3 again so we are in that 4th place chase sooner than I hoped. Manc cunts right behind us, Blue ****e above us and Spurs closing us down. The Hull game looks a real obstacle on Wednesday now.

... no, it was Coward Webb

Somehow Smith were told to make things wide to the left - but why not put Coutinho over there - or Suarez (to confuse them -and put Aspas into the center - he is though a forward)...

Smith has got clear ability and potential but he was nowhere near ready for this game.

Oscar seems to be a right whinging little ****rat.

Every time a Liverpool player farted near him he went down like he had been shot and then looked like we was about to cry after Lucas went for him following that challenge.

Phew, thank god Xmas is over. 6pts out of 12 playing 3 of last season's top 5 away. Done, move on and focus on a top 4 finish

Smith might as well have not been on the pitch, I just can't understand that one at all. He looked so far off being a first teamer its untrue. I can't remember a worse breakthrough debut than that.

2nd half was alright despite it being a bad result and performance. They're really not far off. The lack of squad depth is letting us down just now.

To be fair I can't see us getting fourth, I suspect it to be the usual suspects, despite utd having a dodgy season. City, arsenal, Chelsea, utd, in that order.
