I think Webb can be a better ref, he is a decent ref in all fairness and he didn't fall for any of Chelsea's cheating at the start of yesterday's game which a lot of our fans are forgetting but he did bottle that decision on Etoo's foul.

I wonder perhaps whether he thought it was off the ball that that's why he decided to opt against giving a pen. Suarez wasn't near the ball was he so it was an off the ball incident, that's my only conclusion really?

Anyone agree or should an off the ball incident count as a foul in the penalty box?

The position of the ball is totally irrelevant when considering whether a penalty should be given. I can't remember all of the law but it says, more or less, that if one of the specified offences takes place in the penalty area a penalty can be awarded irrespective of where the ball is on the field of play.

It doesn't matter if the player is running away from goal, is facing his own goal, has lost possession of the ball or is nowhere near the ball.

Yes of course it's a penalty if it precedes the other team scoring. It's totally irrelevant where the ball is

Years after the event I am so glad the ref gave Chelsea **** all when they had about 10 penalty shouts.
