We definitely need to improve our finishing. Hull had **** all shots on target but it only needed one lapse in concentration to ruin our day.

Luckily our defence was rather good and Suarez stepped up with another masterful set piece.

Coutinho should have had two wonderful goals but shanked them both.

Our shot accuracy is actually very good, 41% (equal with Arsenal) we're not going to score every time and bar City we've scored the most in the division.

Need to keep going at the same level in front of goal though.

I know it's easy to call the right thing to do from the comfort of your armchair but if Coutinho had just back-heeled it across goal then it would have been 3-0 and two for Suarez, and a goal of the season contender.

I think he was right to shoot actually, the ball square to Gerrard was a tricky one. I think he should have gone for the far post though rather than the near post. Still an amazing, mazy run and shows he's in good shape too. I criticised him lately, but I thought he was getting back to form yesterday.

He just went for power. The meg was on but he hit it straight into the keepers chest. It will come, Oscar is a good finisher for a similar type player, not much older either.

Was Coutinho given specific instructions to shoot (and not slide rule pass) in the second half? It was very out of character from the number of shots he had.

Brendan is obviously gearing him up to take the scoring pressue off Suarez. No reason he can't do that, he's got all the tools in his kitbox.

Coutinho's been trying shots game after game and been poor with them. They're always off target, and he often shoots when there's a better option available through a pass.

Frustrating really. He just needs to calm down and focus on the best option for the team, rather than trying to score all the time.

Pabs, I agree with you but the shooting accurately bit isn't down to technique. He has that already. Its down to confidence. Which is why I think Brendan has told him to stop laying other people on and get the cobwebs off his own abilities.
