I don't hate Henderson, but I don't think he can't play a deep role and help control the midfield, especially away from home. For the most part he has been good at Anfield, but since new the Chelsea game were I think his performance level has dropped significantly and had too many games where he has missplaced 1 pass in 4, which is not good enough.

Matt you're a good lad but you've never rated Henderson. I agree that he's been poor this calendar year but I think it's as much about our shape (in midfield) than just his form. Think we both agree that it's an area that BR needs to address in the summer - our midfield does not control the middle of the park. It's a problem.

I think we need to realise that we need to play a different game away from home, I think we should be going with a more conservative side by perhaps sacrificing an attacking midfielder for a more defensive minded one, I think that would benefit us significantly in these types of games.

On the plus side, there's no chance we'll be as abject when Arsenal come to town. It's exactly like us to up our game for Everton only to throw away points today and then up our game against Arsenal and hopefully get the 3 points.

The real shame in a performance like that is that we're in with a bloody good shout for CL footy next season for the first time in years, we had an opportunity to pretty much put Man Utd out of contention, and we couldn't beat a bottom 3 club like West Brom.

There is a severe lack in quality defensively, so much so that I think it'll end up costing us 4th spot.

It's the typical knee jerk tripe that's been posted on here all season, it was a terrible individual error and cost us two points, we still got a draw though take it and move on.

To be fair, we're playing with basically our last-choice back four. Kolo is fourth-choice, Skrtel is probably behind Agger and Sakho in regards to talent, Flanno has impressed everyone but his game has holes, and Cissokho is Cissokho. I don't disagree that we need help and depth defensively but once Sakho/Agger get back the ship should steady significantly, to say nothing of Johnson and Enrique. No team wants to rely on its fourth-choice CB for any period of time.
