better defending from arsenal snuffed out our few decent chances, but not enough support from the middle.
we know gerrard will be sitting deeper, so we needed the full back to chip in, allen awol.
was there no one on the bench who could have taken brendans favourite boys place...

Was trying to log on here to complain about how much I dislike Howard Webb but I guess the site was down. When Oxlade-Chamberlain brought Suarez down in the box on 65 minutes or so it was a blatant penalty. Clear as ****ing day.

In denying that peno he's either a) a **** ref, or b) a biased ref. Both are things that deserve attention and consequences. ****ing sick and tired of this horrible officiating. It's really unfair and we should have had that chance to draw the scores level.

Anyway, we outplayed them second half and represented ourselves well. Should've capitalised on earlier chances but oh well. Now we can really focus on the league. **** Arsenal. I hope Everton can get a result in the quarterfinals.

Yep, he's dismal. Hull x 3, City x2, Chelsea x 1, today, Newcastle x1, it's just ridiculous now, every away game we basically start a goal down due to him.

Thought he was pretty hapless TBH.

Sturridge wasted 3 chances, the last one was an poor decision to try and take it round Fabianski when he could of slotted it. No excuses for that one really as it was on his stronger left side too. The others I can understand why he didn't do better.

Howard Webb was terrible today, he seemed to lose his yellow card in that second half, numerous times Arteta brought someone down to stop an attack and nothing was given. The first penalty decision he got spot on, Podolski played the man and not the ball, penalty end of. The second was an absolute stone waller, and not for the first time this season has he denied a stone wall penalty against Suarez.

Andy Gray mentioned something about Suarez's reputation may have preceeded him, which to be honest I think is a load of bollocks. It shouldn't matter what anyone has done in the past, the referee has to be impartial and for want of a better term, wipe the slate clean from game to game. What makes it worse is the fact that Howard Webb is also a copper, someone who is supposed to be impartial on a day to day basis.

I'm not too disappointed with the way we played, we probably deserved the equalizer and I thought we played really well. We just needed to take our chances.

Quick mention for Raheem, thought he was excellent today even playing Right Back.

He's been our best CB this season.

I'd hope that it's just rustiness with Agger, but he was under par today, being bullied all over the place by a young clogger. .....plus being at fault in the second goal.

Good thing is we know he's better than what he showed today.

yes we created chances, but we were not getting the numbers and options around the box like we need to unlock their tight defence.
only seen allen contribute something close to supporting the attack once. coutinho was wasteful, but maybe arsenal tried their best to crowd him.

when we lost possession there was none of the high tempo pressing that wins us games. this is were we have lost the initiative.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Good to know that we are now a better team than Arsenal. They played like the home team at times - all their men behind the ball etc. This is meant to be an Arsene Wenger team, not George Graham!

As for the defence, I thought we were ok and a bit unlucky. Agger was a bit rusty but that Sanago was consistently arming/elbowing him in the face - unpunished of course. Jones looked ok surprisingly.

Bottom line is that if we had taken our chances it would have been another rout.
