Their last 2 results were a 1-0 loss to Sunderland and a 3-1 loss to West Ham. A draw for me would not be a good result.

Lets smash them. Time to put that shocking defeat at Anfield right. Lets get at them from the start.

Again I have no clue what you're on about.

On asked whether he believed his side should become more solid defensively, like Chelsea, Rodgers was adamant that his team would maintain its attacking instincts.

“I think it’s not our style,” said the Northern Irishman.

“I worry always to play good football. I’m not one who is totally satisfied to always just grind out results,” he added.
While these comments from Rodgers are fine, fans or Molby going on to say we wouldn't accept playing like Chelsea is nonsense, of course we would if it meant being top of the league.

So what has that got to do with your other quote or Reina FFS?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Can see this being a big test for Gerrard in the deeper position. Expect Southampton to put the pressure on and close him down quickly.

we don't usually deal well with teams pressurising us and closing down the midfield spaces... hopefully we are the ones doing the pressing and taking the game to them.

I would like to see Allen in midfield so we can try and control the midfield a bit more and hit them in transition, we will get some breaks if they pressure us.

Be interesting to see if Rodgers starts with Allen. Coutinho has been inconsistent & Allen had a good cameo vs Swansea.

I've been trying to tell myself that but neither of me is really convinced

I think Gerrard, Allen and Henderson is the way to go today.

Hope Wanyama is out for them. He played very well at Anfield and they'll miss him.

Surely Suarez will be back on the goal trail today and if our defence stand firm, we'll win it.

I can see this being a pivotal weekend.....

                        Come on red men

Id like to see Cout or Raheem on the bench for Allen.....think it will be useful to have more than Moses on the bench too

i reckon its more likely to be coutino getting benched as sterling offers us a better counter attack option.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Indeed, and our last Southampton game was exactly this problem - they pressed us to feck and were all over us. I said for ages after, that I couldn't other teams just doing the same. I think our game has changed significantly since though, we were attempting tika-taka then, we're now all about absorbing pressure and playing a (lightning) fast counter.

i will add your quote to the thread as i feel it nicely sums up the current style of play.
