Ha ha, that's the only slight negative for me. Having lost thousands on us over the years, I can't even take advantage now and win some of it back as I don't gamble.Originally posted by Redspin View PostAs I was saying - it was the banker of the weekend. I'm buggered that I'm not in the UK at the moment as I would have had a very serious bet on it.
I can't believe all the whingeing fannies on here who thought we might lose. Just looking at the basics, we are a very good team and Man Utd are a very, very average team, so a win was always very, very likely. A few weeks ago it was obvious that Southampton away was our hardest fixture and we won that comfortably enough.
Man Utd are by quite a distance inferior to Southampton so I can't believe the level of pessimism on here.
Today's game was a stroll in he park and we didn't even need to get out of second gear to win in a canter
Thought the 5/2 from Bet 365 that we'd be ahead by h/t was giving money away, considering the way we normally start games. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I get why you were worried. I've been supremely confident all season though and I was confident before this one too. Very confident.
The main games that worry me now are the City and Chelsea games. I actually fancy us against City this time, they look leggy. Chelsea though are just so sneaky and crafty. I think that's where things might come unstuck.

The game went like clockwork. Exactly to plan, and to form. So no surprise...Originally posted by Redspin View PostAs I was saying - it was the banker of the weekend. I'm buggered that I'm not in the UK at the moment as I would have had a very serious bet on it.

But, this was United's moment to forget a dreadful season and to put a massive downer on us. You expect them to give everything, to fight for every ball. There was none of that, and that is the miracle of Moyes. He's a disaster for them.Last edited by dom9; 17-03-14, 10:01 AM.Oh I don't know.

Its really really easy to say after the game that you didn't think we could ever lose.
But its football, a game that has as much chance of ****ing you up as any. Its pretty condescending to talk like that to other fans who want to exercise some caution when it comes to expressing hubris.*Except Michael, who died.

Other great bets I would have taken were Liverpool/Liverpool and Suarez to score at any time (the latter was probably lousy odds though).Originally posted by RedReet View PostHa ha, that's the only slight negative for me. I probably would have tossed a tenner at Vidic to get a red card too.
Never mind, back in the UK in less than three weeks so can hit the bookies then

I think you'll find that I confidently predicted we'd win by three before the game, which I believe is actually the opposite of hindsight.Originally posted by Alex View Post

It's not hubris either. It's just confidence based on what I can see with my own eyes.
Honestly, some times before games I read the prediction threads on here and half the posters seem to be in a mind to reach for the razor blades before a ball's been kicked
