I jut knew it was too good to be true. I was hoping we'd beat Chelsea but I wasn't expecting it. What I wasn't expecting was Gerrard making sure a huge defining error. That's what makes it even more sickening IMO.
I didn't see us getting beat and we were in total control until that error and after that Gerrard appeared to lose his head. Feel so sorry for him but at the same time I'm pissed off as well.
Unfortunately, I think he was trying to hard to make up for his mistake. Too many long shots when keeping the ball may have been a better option etc.
I can't help but feel that there was a certain inevitability about this, you know how they say that attacks win you games and defences win you titles, it kind of seemed to good to be true that we could in the league by winning games 3-2 rather than 1-0. I can't help but think that our desire to win by playing beautiful football is somewhat naïve and who other than Mourinho the Mr Anti-football himself to bring us crashing down. Ironically their tactics only worked so well because we were drawn into constantly attacking them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
