I think we all just need to learn from it and move on.

For example, when Brendan first started he advocated that if we control possession of the ball then statistics prove you'll more than likely win the game. I think he's moved away form that philosophy somewhat and I'm glad he has - i dont think a coach can be as single minded as that to ignore other possibilities/eventualities.

We learn, adapt and we go again!

We had a great run of results and it came to an end against Chelsea

Tactically they set up well and they nullified our attacking play

Hats off to them on that score
Lucky it didnt come to an end before we had a top 4 place sewn up because it may have mentally destroyed us and cost us top 4. We are in bonus territory at the moment. Hopefully the players can get over it

I dont think pressure on the situation got to the players. I think the spoiling tactics time wasting etc stopped us building any pressure and mount sustained attacks. It happens. Just a shame it was yesterday

Was an unbelievable run of wins that got us to that position, a run we probably had no right to go on

Chelsea's tactics.....I couldn't imagine Man Utd, Barcelona, Bayern etc doing that. It wouldn't sit well with their stature in the game. They're taunted with the "small club with money" jibe but there's a fair bit of truth in that.

Tony Cascarino was talking more ****e today than usual.

He questioned Rodgers on using Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho in the same line-up.

Did he also not see the central midfield of Gerrard, Lucas, and Allen, which is a real solid base?

Bizarrely, I could see us going on another run (obv mostly next season).

I don't think anyone scares us now, we know we can beat anyone (apart from the cunting chavs it seems).

This is a team of talents that work for each other. I think we're tougher mentally than everyone (including us fans) thinks.

Good job no one in the world gives a frack about anything he's got to say. Ever.

A target for next season will be improving our results vs the top teams home and away. Only 6 points from the other top 3 teams has hurt us this season. We've got the firepower to blow away the lesser teams so we just need to work on getting more points from the top teams.

Sods law we will do well in those games next season and start faltering against the crap teams.

It took a team of extremely expensive top class players to park the bus. I can't see any other team in the PL being able to do that to us.

It didn't help that we had an off day in front of goal as well. On another day we'd have still beaten them despite their tactics.

when messi was untouchable barca wouldnt have ever contemplated selling him to anyone. 86 goals in one calendar year is unreal. If he had gone then they could have got anything for him even £200m plus.

But now that messi isnt performing at his best, the stories coming out of nou camp are that barca would be willing to sell their no.1 player. But they wont be getting £150m for him.

If there's a right time to sell suarez its now. just got player of the year, is 27 and has scored 30 league goals for us. His stock wont be any higher than it is this season.

We could re- invest that money back into 3/4 positions that need strengthening to make us contenders for years to come. we all know that our squad isnt brilliant after the first 11 players.

I dont like the thought of losing our best player but sometimes it has a bigger impact on the team / squad as a whole. I know it didnt work for spurs but thats not to say its not something to be dismissed out of hand.

Show me good examples of teams reinvesting that money effectively and turning into a period of dominance. Do you think Man Utd would prefer the money or Ronaldo? Spurs would prefer the money or Bale? If you can afford to retain world class talent, then you retain world class talent.

You just dont sell world class players especially when your transfer record is as dubious as ours

We need him for CL football and to attract other players

It's not the right time at all! It's our best team in a long time and he's had the best season of his career, thats not the time to cash in. If he's washed up at 30 due to his all action style then we ring Chelsea or some other mugs and do the deal but not now.

I dont think it sends a good message to the squad either, alright lads, you got so close to the title we'll sell your best player as a reward! Good luck!! It'd be a massive mental blow. Our attack is incredible, no need to mess with it other than buying depth to cover injuries. We should have enough money to do some decent business in the summer.

Cannot believe this is even being discussed.
