I think had we scored those hatful of missed chances, we'd have been out of sight really. No point singling out players or tactics. As a team, they were all culprit in a way. We played very well for 75 minutes.

Taking Sterling off and leaving on Luis when he could barely run was ridiculous really.Originally posted by James P View PostJust heading home from Selhurst. There's nothing in that game that we haven't seen many times this season. Brilliant going forward, but put the pressure on our back five and they literally freeze. Watching it live rather than on TV made it even more apparent - the sense of panic that grips the team, and especially the defence, is palpable.
Suarez and Sturridge looked tired and off the pace, Henderson makes a huge difference. Allen and Lucas give us **** all width. Sterling should have stayed on. In the last 20 minutes they could have had 5.
Steve Peters needs to work with the back 5 and we need a new defensive coach.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Imagine going into next season WITHOUT Lucas, Alberto, Aspas and Moses as our 'attacking midfield alternatives'. Can't wait to meat out our squad this summer.
I'm still a happy bunny, we're almost definitely finishing second and like in 1992/3 will win the league the following season as Manutd did back then. I believe.
One tit for another.

One or two world class additions and it could've made all the difference. As defeatist as it may be though, I just can't see us getting another chance like this for a while. I think they're going to be hugely deflated now, and the squad will be stretched too far with European football back.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostTHere's nothing fundamentally wrong with our approach, with better players, even just a deeper squad, we'd have won the league. I think the key was taking off Sterling. He was quiet in the first half but when he moved inside in the second half he was superb. He was an excellent outlet, linked play well, held the ball well and worked hard off the ball. While he was on in the second half we looked like scoring in every attack. From the very minute be went off we lost control in the middle of the park. It was the wrong substitution at the wrong time.

Rodgers ain't stupid imo and he'll have good idea where we've gone wrong lately. I don't think Johnson will be getting offered a contract any time soon and it's looking like Henderson's rash challenge vs City has cost us big time. Sorely missed in the last two games. This is just a ****ing massive kick in the balls. Shut up shop, take the 3-1 and see how City do. Seven Liverpool players up in the box prior to the counter attack for their 2nd goal.I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I think it shows the lack of depth in the squad - a sub means a change in approach for us rather than having a like-for-like replacement that keeps us doing what we've been doing (if we've been doing it well).Originally posted by Redspin View PostI think the key was taking off Sterling. Neville made some good points about our need for a necessary bit of cynicism and he's right. It won't make us Chelsea/Mourinho - it'll make us winners. If we can get that into the team mentality then we can compete again next year. If we don't - we'll fall away.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

If things pan out otherwise and we pick up where we left off next season, then great. Can't really see it though.
Anyway, if we're not going to win the league I'd rather City win it. Since we ****ed it up today, Chelsea are still technically in the title race. Haha. Unbelievable.
