FSG, Cash, BR, PL and CL

As I've said here before, I can't really talk footy. However there are some serious issues that have to be addressed quickly.

FSG barely understand footy. They may have got to grips with PL - and we've been outstanding this year, make no mistake. CL is completely different. CL and PL combined is another leap ahead.

We have a ludicrously (untenable) 'thin' squad. We need a load more more quality players.

BR is new to the CL

Most of our players are new to the CL

Unless there's some serious cash to spend we're not going that far in the league or the CL.

FSG need to understand that they need to spend. BR needs to make his point to them.

Then BR has to make a plan with new players that will keep us in the PL title race and make us successful in the CL.

Attacking, attractive play is great. But take the fekkin points every time.

We'll only spend what we have, I don't think they'll take a loan of another 100m like they did under Kenny.

Personally knowing our finances, we have 50m + sales which is quite decent IMO. We need to find one two good free transfers or guys with experience who won't cost much.

Juve got Llorente and Tevez for 5m and then Pogba on a free. We need something of that sort.

Nothing to discuss, of course we're going to spend relatively big (for us). FSG aren't stupid, neither is it required for BR to hammer this home to them.

A legacy is built slowly for longevitiy, don't want to burn out like a Newcastle or a Blackburn. We're already ahead of schedule so can't see why we're complaining. FWIW we will replace ****e players and build a larger usable squad (not simply bench players who are NEVER going to get a game like this season - Moses, Alberto, Aspas, etc).

I know what you mean but wouldnt write off us going far in the league or CL, plenty of underdogs do well in the CL, even win it. We defo need to spend though.

I think that the squad is very thin, to my mind we have 14 players who are proven good enough:

Mignolet, Johnson, Agger, Sakho, Skrtel, Flanagan, Gerrard, Coutinho, Henderson, Lucas, Allen, Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge

We should keep all this players and add to them. I know people have been fairly critical of some of the players on there but realistically we can't afford to be getting rid of any of them, because they'll need to be replaced and we already need to bring in 5 or 6 players who will be of first team quality.

He hasn't gone that far. Just resign yourself to the fact that you'll never be as good a fan as him. Blame every failing of the season on one player = superfan. Ask reasonable questions about squad depth and being in the CL next season = you're a cunt.

You know what, the beauty of this ride with FSG and Brendan is that we had a whole different set of questions 2 years ago, and they have answered them with style.

Rather than wollow in the future at the moment, Im choosing to remember we are top of the league (for now) and remembering we will more than likely finish second. First place next year is almost certainly on.


Then we have the fun of a new Champions League campaign, something that under Rafa I took massively for granted.
