14 games left after the Toure **** up at West Brom. Won 12 Drew 1 Lost 1. 37 points from a possible 42 and people suggesting we blew it
. I'm old enough to have seen us win everything in sight yet I struggle to recall a more exhilarating ride of a season. Rodgers has worked wonders with this group and looks set to be backed financially this window. Coupled with the return of a few loanees we should be good to go on all fronts in August. I sense real fear and jealousy from a few rival fans. Stadium developments due to commence too. Very exciting times and FSG deserve massive credit. Elated with this season.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

We go again next season. Sterling and Coutinho a year older and wiser, Henderson taking on my responsibility and a manager who's ability to learn on the job is unrivalled. I'd say it's the other teams which should be fearing us rather than the other way around. Sure we need a few more players but we'll pretty much have our pick this summer.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

The fact that sums it all up for me is that we're sat here disappointed to finish 2nd when other teams who were supposed to be better than us are elated at finishing 4th/5th/6th etc.
Shows how far we've come and how good we could become. Nail the summer purchases and we can expect this excitement this time next year too!

The narrative for us has been constant, as has the others you have listed for the others. People will always find the negative in what's coming. But none of the things you have listed for the others will turn out to be true, just like the one for us wont either.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostI don't understand the narrative that we won't be as good next season because everyone else will strengthen. City will not be a better team next season. There are just no players to buy and make their team better. Their top players have peaked.
Chelsea will have to sign a top class striker as well as replace Hazard, who's their most important player.
Arsenal are bottlers. Mancs aren't doing what we did next year.
We have infinitely more room for growth and improvement.
Everyone will be stronger, and so will we. Other than that at the moment, its basically wait and see until November time again.*Except Michael, who died.

After initially feeling devastated I am now in a really positive state of mind. What a season! Nobody saw this coming. I'm old enough to remember when we were winning year after year. Somehow this felt just as good, maybe even better. I think much of that has to do with me watching every match with my two boys. I could sense as the season went on that they were really getting what it means to be a supporter of our great club. There were so many highs as we destroyed teams, playing football that was as good as anything previous Liverpool teams have played.
Thanks Brendan. Thanks Liverpool F.C. YNWA.I love Sarah

Let's be honest, despite all of the disappointment this season is definitely beyond all of our wildest of dreams. We played incredible football and won games. We were naive on a few occasions but fortune favoured the brave. We have some great momentum for next season. If we invest correctly we can replicate it, we have the basis of a good squad (I've always maintained this) we now need to supplement it with probably 4 strong players, plus maybe 1 or 2 back from loan. The size of our squad hampered us in these last few fixtures, everyone seemed to be a little tired (understanably).
The game against Chelsea was definitely the end of our title chase, and things went downhill from there. I'm looking forward to seeing what is installed for next season. It's going to be amazing to see Liverpool back in the CL, I've missed those days. I'm extremely fond of Rodgers, alas he's not the style of manager which I'm usually in favour of or would necessary prefer. He has however definitely proved his worth and justified that he was a very good appointment.
To think, Suarez wanted to leave us for Arsenal at the start of the season. Really shows the progress that has been made.

This season has been beyond all expectations. It's been gut-wrenching, soul-destroying, heart-breaking but most of all utterly fantastic and made us dream again!
Work needs to take place on the defence with the view of challenging again next season!Nowt wrong with lurking!

I don't think it's a question of fate I think it's more a question of experience. I think the players need to experience a disappointment like this so that they can learn from it and have the desire not to let it happen again. Hopefully the players will learn from this and we can go one better next yearOriginally posted by BigChief View PostThis season was our AC Milan of 2005 or John Terry banana skin moment in the CL. Its now over and we will see other teams "slipping" to hand us the league title in the near future.
That is how fate works, and has always worked from my memory. Roll on August.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
