Spot the difference…Daniel Levy. Spurs are run by a delusional public schoolboy with a misplaced sense of entitlement. He doesn’t ever trust his managers and always knows better when it comes to the transfer market. He bought a random group of players, handed them to AVB and told to him to sort them out. FSG realise they have a limited knowledge of football but extensive experience of sports management. They entrust their managers ( subject to results) allowing them to select and build their teams. A huge difference.

What about the 'group' purchasing players like Alberto and Aspas, not Rodgers himself?

Or when they entrusted Rodgers, we got Borini and tried to get Ashley Williams?

I think the group wants Moreno, Rodgers wants Bertrand. How long do we give this learning curve?

Till it straightens out, around a fortnight and we'll be good, probably why we're waiting to make the big signings.

edit: Also, you don't really know that, it's just mdudled thinking! for the sake of your thread!

Only we have no evidence he wanted those players less than others. Plus to believe the manager at most modern football clubs buys players on his own is ridiculous, it certainty appears our manager has as much if not more input in comings and goings than most.

All of which you already know. Poor again
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                      Mine angry and defrauded young?

I think many managers pick their own players, Rafa did to the extent they were available. OK, they don't negotiate for them, but managers should be responsible for who they choose to be part of their group.

I think it's natural to be concerned by this, I know I am. So many changes to the squad can often be detrimental at first. As others have mentioned though it's an easy comparison to make, but it's not necessarily a fair one.

I'd be tempted to really ease most of the new signings in if I'm honest. Start with the players we had last season plus Lallana who should be ready from the off.

It doesn't help that we've got a difficult start to the season fixture wise either

Man United, who are also going through a major squad upheaval, I notice got a piss easy start. What are the odds?!?!

To be fair, as **** as we've played, we've managed to grind out wins (as well as being humiliated by West Ham and Villa) keeping us in touch with the top 4.

Things really can only get better and so we won't quite do a Spurs.
