The U21’s beat Palace 3-2 after being down 0-2 .
2 goals to Kaide Gordon who captained the side ( the 2nd was a cracker ) & the winner was scored by 16 yr old Trey Nyoni after being teed up on the edge of the box by Gordon. We should have had a 4th with a break from half way but Lewi Koumas decided to try to round the keeper when he had an easy pass for Morrison to tap into an empty net. Mrozek saved a penalty early on too.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It’s taken Kaide a while to show his class after his injury but yeah here’s hoping for a good off season for him as he’ll be ready to get stuck into pre season with a new management team to impresss.Originally posted by peterbread View PostKaide Gordon signs new long-term contract with Liverpool
Seems to be playing really well at the moment. Saw the highlights of the game against Palace and he looked great, scored a stunning goal. Nyoni scored an amazing goal.
Just saw your comments SB. They were both class finishes.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I am very much in favour of zero tolerance of rascism but I thought the German football association and clubs would be too, so what is going on in our youth team's games in Germany at the moment? Surely after the first instance everyone was warned to steer clear of any words that could be misheard (as well of course of using rascist terms).

Firstly, the Germans are saying that was the word used...it might not have been of course. (If it was, as an aside I remember how shocked I was when I first heard Liverpool players referring to John Barnes as 'Digger' (Digger Barnes being a character in Dallas) and, even when it was explained to me, couldn't help wondering whether there was some sort of deliberate ambiguity/misunderstanding involving (why couldn't they have called him 'Des' or 'Wilf' rather than a name so easily misheard/misspoken!)Originally posted by Barnie7 View Postthe word used was "Digga" and its like calling someone "Mate" in english - its quite widely used amonst teens in Germany - I think they could have cleared it up quite quickly instead of it escalating as it did.
I read somewhere that the players were asked NOT to use even that word before the second game and I also read that several players believe they heard a word that was not 'Digga' being used. Hence my question really.

I thought it was cos his initials were JCB, like the famous diggers?Originally posted by Paul12 View Postas an aside I remember how shocked I was when I first heard Liverpool players referring to John Barnes as 'Digger' (Digger Barnes being a character in Dallas) and, even when it was explained to me, couldn't help wondering whether there was some sort of deliberate ambiguity/misunderstanding involving
