Cheers mate - looks like the U18s are 1-0 up against Leicester!

This kicked off at 12pm. You may have thought that the U21s last night were are a young side, some of them not even 18 yet, but this takes the biscuit - it's like a kindergarten knockabout. No lemons at half-time, it'll be a story and a nap.

This is the U18s side today:

George, Virtue, Johnston, Parker, Polgar, Alexander-Arnold, Nicholas, Whyte, Marsh, Ejaria, Dhanda

and the subs: Wheeler, Maxwell, Sheron, Kane, Owens

Hardly know any of the these. And I'm pretty sure Ejaria played yesterday.

Ejaria sends George through, splitting the defence with a surgical pass but the Leicester keeper comes well outside his box to knock it away. We look under the cosh a bit here but that was a nice break.

To be fair their average age looks about 4 years more than ours, which is a lot at this level.

And other break by Nicholas who dribbles through then knocks it out to Virtue who puts it back across the box. Out for a corner which is dealt with by Leicester.

Parker makes his debut by snotting the Leicester winger. He is lectured but looks like he lacks contrition. In the meantime a stupid foul on the edge of our box gives Leicester a central free kick just outside. Up, up and away it goes like my beautiful balloon. Wasted.

This lot are clearly happy to attempt playing their way out of defence which is nice to see although sometimes catastrophic.

Good chance by us, Marsh running onto a pass but the defender just nicks the ball away.

Jan Dander looks pretty tricky down out left wing. And Johnston looks snappy in defence as well. I think he's our left back.

Ejaria to Virtue who dribbles into the box but he's very tired and the shot lacks any strength. Ejaria is bossing the midfield, both enforcer and creator in this match.

George comes out to punch the lofted ball away and scuffs it horribly. The ball could have gone anywhere but luckily it's hooked away. George looks punchy but clearly closes his eyes just before he connects.

The commentators are applauding the U21s who are showing up as spectators to watch the U18s even though they are too old to play for them. I'm not sure. Remember those older kids who hung around outside the primary school gates because it made them feel safe and they just didn't want to let go. **** off and get up your own end.

George makes a smart save from a low drive to divert it for a corner. He catches the corner too.

Couple of shots here for us, a dummy by Dander to Marsh who takes a shot, it bounces around the box a bit and then a corner for us.

Dander gets his head to it but it's miles away and out for a goal kick.

Dander takes the ball and passes it straight to Nicholas in the box who lofts it to the right over the keeper and it dawdles into the net. Great goal. Lovely pass from Dander and very composed from Nicholas.
