Was thinking about exactly that last night watching the game (until HT, it was rather dull and ended 0-0) Ejaria has clearly moved ahead of Branners since the end of last season and with Grujic also young it's now rather hard to see him having a future at Liverpool - Stewart is better set being a more defensive orientated player he is in competition with Lucas (gone in the summer no doubt) and Can/Hendo.

Wilson has come back from a long injury lay off, has a bit more time on his side and as captain of the U23s and being a "flair" player I think he is just likely to be more in the thoughts of the senior coaches.

Of the other mainstays of the U23s/senior fringes Ojo really needs to get back to fitness quick, with the talk of Pulisic and that Iranian wide attacker plus Mane in place he could slip away without anyone noticing.

Ejaria and Stewart really look ready for first team action. I don't really remember Brannagan's appearances. Perhaps he needs to go somewhere to kick on - I think it may be more than coincidence that Ejaria and Stewart are making the most of their talents after a move between clubs - sometimes players need a shock to make them prove themselves in training etc.

It's not like Klopp hasn't been giving players opportunities when he has felt they merit them (witness Alexander-Arnold and Woodburn last night).

Another example might be Suso who took a while to put his talent onto the pitch at first team level even after he left us.

Wales have already tied down Harry Wilson and are now after Woodburn. They could have yet another golden-ish generation in a few years.

U23s draw 1-1 with West Brom - Ojo played and did well apparently Brannagan scored.

They also played a change side v Nuremberg from D2, which ended in a draw

Liverpool U23s: George, Whelan, N. Phillips, Masterson, Brewitt, Williams, Brimmer, Virtue, T Gomes (Dhanda, 65), Alves (Dunn, 75), Lennon.

We are rightly taking it very easy with Godmez but wouldn't surprise me if he's in before the end of the season. He's going to be a legend here, there's little doubt about that!!

The actual position for the sides at the Academy level leagues is of course quite unimportant for the coaches but it's good to see that after a shoddy start to the season the U23s are now up to third (worse g/d) behind Everton and Man City while the U18s are also third, again behind City (plus game in hand) who are kings of that hill and joint with Utd. Gary McAuley has scored 13 goals and only one of them a peno for the kids.

I would say there is a lot of doubt about that, what has he done to warrant such revered status?
