James McConnell set for new deal and loan move?

Young midfielder James McConnell is close to signing a long-term contract with Liverpool! He’ll miss the Asia tour due to a minor injury, with the club deciding that the long flight and jet lag could make things worse.

A loan move is on the cards, with interest from Ipswich, West Brom, Derby, and several German clubs.

A big talent Liverpool truly believes in!

⚽️ Keyrol Figueroa cancelled out Paul Mullin's opener to earn #LFC Under-21s an impressive 1-1 draw against Wigan Athletic's senior side in their latest friendly.

The Reds wonderkid came back to haunt his father, Maynor Figueroa's former club as he scored within moments of coming on against the Latics.

We have a wonderkid? Also is that Mullin as in former Wrexham striker?
          Never knowingly optimistic

Yeah it seems a strange move. A team that just got promoted from the 3rd division in Serbia, like WTF? Whose radar was that on?

Owen Beck signs new contract then heads off to Derby on loan.

The promising Welshman has however decided to stay at the club. Liverpool confirmed he has signed a new long-term contract with the Reds, and he's also been sent out on loan.

Next season, Beck will be at Derby County, hoping to continue on his excellent form in the Championship last season while at Blackburn Rovers.

It's understood the 22-year-old is still really highly rated by the club's officials. That's why he has signed a new deal and that's why he's being sent out on loan to develop.

Currently, the Reds have three senior left-back options with the arrival of Milos Kerkez. But Andy Robertson faces an uncertain future in terms of his long-term spot in the team. Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas could depart the Reds very soon, too.

I find Beck an interesting one, he's currently 22 (23 in a couple of weeks) and is going on loan (again) in the Championship. He did well by all accounts at Blackburn last season before getting injured, some suggestions he is highly rated at LFC but given his age and the fact he has no PL experience (yet) it looks difficult to see him having much of a future here. That said Robertson is out of contract next season so potentially a spot in the squad opening up there there and he is HG which would help. But you would have felt his chances would have been better of making that step up next year if he could have spent a year playing regularly in the PL.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's probably not about maximizing his chances, it's more about maximizing his fee by getting him playing games and being visible to potential buyers.

Yeah protecting our assets value, no doubt , & hoping he continues to improve enough to become Kerkez’s deputy.

It’s seems whenever a young player goes on loan they sign a new deal. Double protection. If they’re good and worth keeping their on a long deal, if they’re not at the Liverpool level but do well it adds to any transfer fee or send them on another loan and hope they impress enough for a decent move and help them keeping getting experience to get a good club in the future.

⚽️ Jayden Danns scored on his return from injury for #LFC Under-21s!

Keyrol Figueroa and Kaide Gordon were also on the scoresheet before Danns converted a penalty as the young Reds won 3-1 against RC Lens.

Player-coach Jay Spearing was delighted to see the striker back in action.

️ "It was a competitive game throughout and there were valuable minutes for everyone at this stage of pre-season. It was also great to see Jayden Danns back on the pitch."
