Figueroa seems to have gotten over his injuries and has had a good season. Big year for him with the new manager and a chance for the young forwards to show what they’ve got to fill in the squad positions with Salah gone and Ekitike injured.

Armin Pesci made his debut for Hungray today. I wonder if he’ll be sent on loan.

Some transfer news for the academy.

As per @LewisBower2021 Liverpool are targeting Xavier Parker from Man City. 2010-born. Can play in a number of different roles in midfield and attack. Averaged a goal or assist every 76.5 minutes for Man City at U18 level last season. Became the second youngest player to debut for Man City in the UEFA Youth League. Very impressive. Good ball carrier. Gets into great goal-scoring positions, and has great link-up play in and around the edge of the box. Already playing regularly an age-group up. Captained England U16s recently. Could be a massive coup from #LFC.

Prince Cisse, has signed his first professional contract. Not seen much academy football from last season, is he any good? Djibril wasn't brilliant, but I did like him.

He spent some time out injured but seemed highly rated in the 18’s. I’ve not seen enough of him to comment either way. Maybe Venton knows more?

What’s his best position? Every time I’ve seen him play it’s been in a different position. I didn’t know his stepdad is Kante. He could teach him a thing or two.

I see Prince Cisse (Djibril Cisse's lad) has signed his first professional contract with LFC. 17 year old centre back.

???? NEW SIGNING ALERT — Noah Evans is a Red! ????

16-year-old Noah Evans completes his move to Liverpool from Burnley, signing a two-year scholarship deal and joining up with the U18 squad ahead of the new season! ????⚽

Homegrown at Burnley's Academy, Noah rose through the schoolboy ranks before catching the eye of Liverpool's scouting network — the kind of quiet development story that often produces the biggest gems. ????

Dual-eligible for England ???????????????????????????? or Germany ???????? at youth level — a decision that could shape his international future for years to come.

Liverpool's academy pipeline keeps building for the next generation. Could Noah be the next name to break into the first team picture? ????

Are you excited to watch his journey at Anfield?!

WELCOME TO THE REDS, YNWA. ????????

They are really going all in on building up the academy right now. Considering the prices we are seeing this might be the way to go. Go out and get the best of the best. It’s an area the club has been behind others in for a bit now. While Hughes has had plenty of stick in his time here this might be where we seen the benefits in a few years time and another reason we’ve changed managers. Iraola has done a good job developing young players at Bournemouth and was happy to give them chances.

Liverpool have completed the signing of a young defender, with Fabrizio Romano confirming a deal our colleagues on TEAMtalk broke news on three months ago.

And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool sealed a deal to sign Celtic youth team player, Dara Jikiemi, on Sunday. Liverpool sign Dara Jikiemi from Celtic

He wrote on X: ‘Liverpool have sealed deal to sign Scotland U16 captain Dara Jikiemi from Celtic, here we go!

‘Jikiemi has signed paperwork on Sunday to join #LFC on a 5 year contract.’

Jikiemi follows in the footsteps of Calvin Ramsay and Ben Gannon-Doak who also joined Liverpool by way of Scottish sides as youngsters.

More here. I wondered how a 16 yr old could sign a 5 year contract

News of Liverpool agreeing a deal – which was brokered by sporting director, Richard Hughes – was originally relayed by our insider, Graeme Bailey, back in March.

On March 14, Bailey revealed: ‘Liverpool have won the race to sign highly-rated Celtic youngster Dara Jikiemi after convincing the teenage defender to make the move south of the border, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal.

‘The English champions have been working on a deal for the 16-year-old since the turn of the year, identifying the versatile youngster as one of the brightest prospects in Celtic’s academy setup.

‘Jikiemi, who is comfortable at centre-back but can also operate in midfield, has now opted to reject Celtic’s offer of a three-year deal in favour of a switch to Anfield.

‘Sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that the teenager has agreed to join Liverpool on a scholarship, with a professional contract already lined up for when he turns 17 next January.

‘We understand a number of English clubs were tracking the defender closely and explored the possibility of bringing him south. However, the decision ultimately came down to a choice between remaining at Celtic or joining Liverpool.

???? Jeremy Jacquet emerged into all of our lives last week, and the updates on Giovanni Leoni continue to be positive ones as he recovers from that horrible ACL injury he got on his debut. But there are even more promising young centre-backs at Liverpool.

And while no-one remembers the end of last season with any fondness at all, the presence of Mor Talla Ndiaye as an unused substitute for the matches against Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa showed just how quickly confidence has risen in a player who only signed in January.

Ndiaye, a £1m capture from Senegalese side Amitie FC, arrived as an under-21 player in the winter, but his promising displays after an early injury brought him to the attention of Arne Slot, and Andoni Iraola is sure to be similarly impressed.

The tall, athletic centre-back, who turned 18 in January, is still likely to see most of his football in the under-21 side this season, but his arrival is expected to allow slightly older players such as Amara Nallo to join a club on loan to gain first-team experience.

That said, Iraola has shown before that he is willing to trust young defenders, with the likes of Dean Huijsen and Iliya Zabarnyi shining at Bournemouth, and while in the immediate first-team picture that looks to be good news for Jacquet and Leoni, keep an eye out for Ndiaye too.

                                - ???????????????? ????????????????????
looking forward to seeing this lad in PS
