It will be interesting to see which young players impress Iraola and get an opportunity in preseason. James McConnell looked like he had a bit chance but a bad loan to Ajax and then an injury set him back a bit. Nyoni and Morrison will have an opportunity in preseason to impress. And Abe is heading with the team to America as well, he’s about to turn 16 so at an age where he might just get a look in considering the hype and how much they had to work to keep him from leaving with City, Chelsea and Arsenal all targeting him.

The 20-year-old St Kitts and Nevis international was one of several players offered fresh terms in July and has now put pen to paper on a new one-year deal with the Reds.
Born in Northampton, Kelly joined the Academy as a U15 in 2018. He represented England at youth level before switching to St Kitts and Nevis ????????, making his debut in 2024. He has since earned eight caps and scored once for the Caribbean nation.

U21’s draw 1-1

Joe Bradshaw scored an equaliser for the Reds at the AXA Training Centre in their first match of 2026-27.

In a game played over two 30-minute periods, the visitors took the lead early on with a free-kick from Finlay Heath.

Bradshaw fired over towards the end of the opening period but got on the scoresheet after the break by finishing from close range.

The affair ended level despite both sides pushing for a winner late on, with Oliver O'Connor and Bradshaw going closest for Liverpool.
