As an attacking p!ayer in on goal away to arsenal he should have been looking to score. He needs to do something to justify his place. Does he want to be a star or what? He's gone and reverted back into his shell like at the start of the season. Even if he had played the perfect pass, it would have been on sterlings left foot and sterling rarely connects cleanly with the ball anyway. He'd have missed. This lad has no balls. None. Needs to be locked in a dark room full of madmen and have to fight his way out. He has the attributes to be a good player.

I may have the opposite opinion to most on here, but I don't have a problem with him playing a pass in that position, it was unselfish and he should have been giving a team mate an easier chance (assuming he had played the pass correctly). We have complained previously about players trying to do too much themselves and while this should have been an easy chance either way it at least shows he is a team player rather than a selfish one.

I think he had done a decent job in the RWB role before his sending off in Europe but his form seems to have dropped off since.

Really thought Markovic was starting to improve awhile back but as a whole he has been very poor. Zero confidence and belief in himself but the worst thing for me is that he seems to be a real wimp. Players can have bad form, confidence can drop and some need time to settle but the very least any player can do is get stuck in. Markovic needs to grow a pair of balls or he won't make it in the premier league.

Which is why spending £20m on him when we needed to compete in the CL and cement our position in the top four THIS season was a silly move.

I think there is a good player in there but he needs good players around him at this stage of his career ; we don't have those either.

Totally bizarre substitution. It was clear Balotelli needed to come on for Gerrard so we'd have a stronger pronged attack of pace and power. Markovic was actually playing decently in the first half. Seemed like he was 'sacrificed' to allow Gerrard to stay on and play in his favoured position.

I think Markovic might develop into a talent next season.

He can't be much worse that's for sure. He has loads of time. Not sure we have loads of time to persevere with him. We certainly can't afford to carry on spending loads on players who need a season or two to sort their **** out.

The best he would ever be is a back up player. Aside from a couple games, hes never really looked like he has what it takes.

I disagree. I think is that he just needs a decent run of games without being sacrificed every time theres a substitution. Not so long ago people were claiming how good he was after he had a bit of a run in the team.
