True, but neither of those are wide midfield players.
Rafa never spent big on a winger / attacking midfield player.
I think he would argue that he never had the luxury of be able to splash out on those types. But that says it all they were luxury players and not critical to his system. Whereas they are critical to BRs.
Who was the lad who was on the plane on route to us & his club pulled the pin on the deal? Simao wasn't it?
Think he's a bit wasted at wing back, would like to see him competing for a spot in the front 3. Still, if it keeps Glenjo out of the side then I'm fine with it.

As with Can, I don't think he's playing in his best position but the game time he is getting for us should help him develop.
Yeah he's struggled a little bit of late but he's not a wing back so he should be cut some slack. Weird how it's his forward play that has suffered a little bit - defensively he looks strong. Ha.
He'll be great next season.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Really think we need to rest Markovic in the league in the next few games and give Ibe his spot. More pace, trickery and strength albeit a bit less intelligence right now.

It's all good for exposure to the more physical nature of the PL, so if he's getting game-time, without actually harming our setup, then it's a good thing.
Plus it brings him into contact with renowned hardmen like Stewart Downing.

Oh dear me, poor Lazar, come to post about him, and i got to the 3rd page before i found his thread!
Anyway now that i've found it....
When we signed Lazar, i half expected a tough young Serbian!
I was just watching last nights highlights, and noticed him after Sturridge's shot which he'd set up with a knock down, before running away with shoulders hunched, and neck tightly set low into said hunched shoulders, and with a face on him like....well.....you know..
Liverpool's Lazar Markovic will discover how many European games he must sit out when UEFA’s disciplinary committee meet on Thursday.
UEFA have the £20million Serbian winger down for a four-match suspension on official lists after he was sent off in December’s final Champions League group clash with Basle at Anfield. However, Markovic has yet to be informed of his punishment.
Markovic will definitely miss Thursday’s Europa League last 32 first leg with Besiktas at Anfield but Liverpool are yet to hear whether it will be more.
