Really disappointed with this guy so far. Had him down to really be a star for us. Yeah fair play, he got injured start of the season but you look at the way Lallana's handled himself since coming back from injury and they're worlds apart.

He's the one that'll swing whether we wasted the summer money. At the moment, I think, we as fans, have every right to be aggrieved. If he turns into the player we all hoped for then it would make the summer seem well spent imo.

Henderson joined us at 21 years of age for similar (ish) money and he looked terrified when on the ball during his first season, and more often than not wenty for the safe option. Could be said that it was not until last season before Henderson looked the part for us on a regular basis, and Henderson had four years of Premier league experience to his name when last season started.


Does not mean that Markovic will turn out to be a good player for us, but his age, lack of footy experience at a decent level, and having to settle in a new country are all things that could see him start slow and take some time to find his feet.

Clearly has something if Chelsea had first option on him but they can afford to buy the finished product not gamble on someone who may or may not become the finished product. Price looks steep for a foreign player though given how little he's shown. Alot will depend on his mentally strong he is cos he's looked meek as **** so far.

I always find it a bit bizarre when you see a professional footballer look so disinterested and half-hearted. What a way to make a living! I'd absolutely go for it if it was me. Especially if I was a sub coming on with 15-20 minutes left. I'd make sure I went absolutely flat out. Instead he just comes on and jogs around a bit. It's a pisstake really.

I'm all for giving him time though, and can see he has talent, and might be overawed, so it's not really a criticism as such, just a general moan

The worst thing about Markovic for me so far is his lack of pace, the videos i was watching of him for Benfica must have been on fast forward as he looked an absolute flyer!! There was a moment in the Real game when Can had the ball made a bursting run & Markovic just snailed up behind him...can't believe how slow he has looked.
