Can't see the issue here, in what position would he start a game?, I mean considering the squad available whose place would he take?

At the moment you don't see him getting a game because there are alot of players ahead of him, but the players who play at the start of the season aren't necessarily the ones who will be playing at the end of the season. Players sometimes get a chance in a cup game or something and force their way into conetention, or they may just develop over time, alternatively they could get their chance due to injury, suspension, or loss of form of other players. At the start of last season alot of people were expecting Ibe to establish himself as a regular in the side and a year later look how that turned out...
