I thought VVD was terrific today and will be a brilliant defender for us.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Apart from giving away a penalty, can always be the difference between a win and a draw or worse.

To be fair, both CBs looked really solid (at one point the ball was just drawn to VVD) - but both had their moment on the dark side, regardless of how the officials arrived at their decisions.

We always blame the CBs when we concede it seems.

Karius was at fault for Wanyama goal IMO. You could say Can should had added to it or Ox lost man but any decent keeper should be catch that easy. Karius comment in interview was hilarious "90% of shots outside the box I would usually save" **** off Karius.

This punching business is ridiculous, it's obviously a result of our coaching.

Doubt it as Karius used to punch rather than catch more often than not in the Bundeliga.

It is pretty common for keepers to punch over an attempted catch, especially in Germany and Spain as it plays the percentages. You are more likely to connect and clear with a punch under pressure than you are to catch clean under pressure. Plus if you get decent distance on a punch, then more often than not it does not come straight back at you as it did yesterday.

The only thing that maybe he could be criticised for with regards the punch was for punching it out in pretty much a straight line from his goal, but he could punch to the exact same spot 100 times in a row and the chances of the punch ending in such a wonder strike would probably be one.

                  Dejan giving it loads

"I'm my biggest critic of myself when I make mistakes," he told Sky Sports.

"I don't talk to anyone for a couple of days - this is me. This is the punishment for myself.

"What do other people think? I'm not bothered. What's important is what the manager says because he is the man in charge of me. If he's positive about me then that's confirmation for myself that I'm one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

"When you go 18 games unbeaten people will say 'wow he's really good' but when you make mistakes they will point the finger at the back four."

Virgil van Dijk is another former Southampton player returning to St Mary's on Sunday and he has admitted that a frosty reception awaits him after he joined Liverpool for £75m in January after a prolonged transfer saga.

When asked who's likely to receive more abuse, Lovren is relishing the prospect and said: "I'm still number one!

"Maybe Virgil is behind me? Let's see what will happen. Let's see between me and Virgil who will have the higher decimals."
Gonna assume he meant decibels there at the end, but you never assume anything with Dejan, especially those easy clearances.

He does love to run his mouth off.......to be fair to him, I'd say the likes of Sky and BT pre-book him on the run-up to games against Southampton and he just can't help himself.

Probably still give him loads even though he's on the bench.

Despite his brain farts, he's probably our second best CB and is being rested for Porto.

If he doesn't speak to people for a couple of days after making a mistake in a game he must barely speak a word in training when we have 2 games a week
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
