i was surprised he went to saints in the first place because he was highly rated and then only for 8.5m.

I read that he lost his place in the Lyon team towards the end of the season. Apparently the whole team was struggling at that point so maybe wasn't his fault.

Assuming he starts alongside Sakho we have two excellent young CBs now, aged 24 and 25. Let’s have some stability at the back and just stick with those two (injuries permitting) all season. For too long we’ve chopped and changed at CB and I think it’s been to the detriment of our defence as a whole.

I think sticking with these two and hopefully having a fully fit Enrique again will help stabilise the defence, too many chopping and changes last season through injury really didn't help us at the back.

I also think that if as it appears Lovren is an organiser at the back it will really help Mignolet as well.
